‘The Queen’s Car’

This client recently picked up an extra car, got a decent deal on it, and wanted it to look better than it currently does…I think Autodermatology has him covered!
The paint condition is what you would expect from a 12 year old vehicle that has never been shown any love except perhaps the occasional drive thru car wash. Swirls, scratches, haziness, contamination (the paint felt like sandpaper), scuffs, marring, water spots, you name it, this one had it!

I believe some value has been added to the ‘Queen’s Car’ after this corrective surgery has been completed! It really came out great!

The ‘details’:

SCG Pro shampoo.
MF chenille mitt.
Griots’s medium mitt.
Adam’s wheel cleaner.
Adam’s tire and rubber cleaner.
Misc. brushes.
Wheels sealed with McKee’s37 Hydro Blue.
DeFelsko PTG.
Scangrip lighting.
Flex 3401.
Rupes MkII 21.
Beta test mini/nano polisher.
Misc. MF and foam pads.
Beta test cutting pad.
Beta test compound.
Griots’ Perfecting cream.
Optimum panel wipe for final wipe down.
McKee’s37 trim restorer.
LSP: GYEON Cancoat.
HD Dress as tire dressing.
Auto Finesse Glass cleaner.
Beta test interior/leather cleaner.

Thank you for looking!

One thing i give major props to is a detailer who can take a neglected vehicle 10+ years old and make it look stunning. Awesome work

Awesome work man. Your place is unbelievable! You're living the dream. Congrats!

Fantastic!!! How long did that take you total? You made it look like a new model. If I saw that on the highway I would think it was a 2017 at the oldest. I have a couple serious questions if you don't mind?

Obviously you own your own detailing business. Do you work out of a home garage? Do you have any employees or do you do it all yourself?

How long does an average detail take you labor wise on a polish and wax/coat or whatever. A full detail basically just not a 3 step. You know, Wash, Decon, clay, polish, seal. I would really like to know what kind of man hours a professional can charge for an average full detail with polishing and how long that takes you to do by yourself?

All that would take me at minimum 3 full days of working a hard 8 hours on my car. And I've never actually done it that fast I'm just giving my best estimate.

Beautiful work there Scott. :props:

I’m really not a Range Rover fan at all but I do enjoy working on them. Their paint system in my experience is always so responsive & a pleasure to polish.

Looks really nice my friend, great job.

Great work and great job as always on the photos. I really should spend more time doing that.

My biggest gripe is our weather. OMG what I would do to have sunny skies as it seems it's always cloudy or overcast for me. Ugh....

Thanks for the comments everyone!

fightnews: I average around 20-24 hours a vehicle, but that figure can go up or down depending on the paint condition. I don't do any 'average' details, LOL, my minimum is at least a 2 step, most are 3-4 steps, wheels off, ceramic/glass coating jobs.
