So this is a car that was repainted with high end dollar base/clear! I just wasent satisfied with the oem paint! So anyways, once it was done it had nearly no orange peel but there was some and i hate orange peel i sanded it all off! I buffed it a while ago but this time i just polished it and applied some wax! Heres what i did!
Wash: meguiars gold class
Clay:meguiars clay
Polish: menzernas PO85rd
Buffer: makita rotary
Wax: collinite 845(amazing wax)
This is how it turned out!

looks awesome! Hopefully my paint will look like that after my spring detail...

what size are those rear tires?

I hate to be a stickler. But, I can see some holograms under the sideview. And towards the edges where the door meets the front drivers side panel...there's some hazyness there. Looks like it may have been missed with some compound. Maybe it was taped off, and never touched up after the tape was removed??

This is the only picture I see this in. Take a close look, you'll see what I mean.

Rest of the pictures look great. I'm not trying to be negative. Black is tough, but maybe next time you get the vehicle...just bang out those spots, customer doesn't have to know, ha.

Good eye dude, I would have never have caught that.

this is 93's ride. I'm sure he's happy you pointed those things out so now he has something to do this weekend...

I've had my fair share of black vehicles, ha. Sometimes I actually take pictures, upload them, and look at them before I even give my customer their car back. Sometimes pictures capture things you couldn't see with the naked eye. So he may very well just overlooked it, and never saw it. But the picture shows it. Don't know why this is...but it's true.

It's still a great job. Removing orange peel is tedious work. Trust me, I've had to pull vehicles back into the shop many times, haha. You think you're done...then you see something, lol.

Its not holograms, its the wax! I was in a hurry to leave school and i noticed some wax still on it when i was gone! And yea after i did all of this i noticed there are some spots that need compound! Its the 2nd car i ever buff, and i picked up my buffer and started buffing at the end of january this year, i really dont have any practice but it turned out great in my opinion. Plus, this is PPG 2021 clear, one of the hardest clears in the industry, any painter will tell you the same thing! It was painted about two years ago and the longer you let the clear sit the harder it gets! So i had a tough time with this, but ive only been doing this about a month and a half so im still learning!

I agree with you. I wasn't knocking your job at all. Just figured I'd point it out, just in case you didn't notice. Not a bad job at all man. Nice work!

Nice! That's better. I can sleep now, haha. :props:

The paint looks like black oil....

:xyxthumbs:

thanks mike! you know, in class we were talking about how no matter what brand of paint it is how good it is or how cheap it is.... there is no such thing as an actual black paint! when i finished doing the car out in the sun it had like a sort of dark brownish hue to it! you could even see the texture in the actual paint below the clear! you could only see that brownish hue in the direct sunlight if you stared hard! pretty amazing!

take it for what its worth... I love that mustang, and I hate mustangs. Nice job and would like to know where you had the work done at.
GREAT WORK

love hate relationship? lol! it was at a body shop i used to work at, i was amazed when it was done because i didnt really know much about painting, but now that i have painted a few cars and know alot more, its all in the clear! this clear alone is like $360, thats just the clear! you still need to get the hardener and reducer for it! it adds up to like $480!
