2010 772 HP BLACK Camaro SS...Swirl City

Very nice! Happy that the owner had his faith restored that there are good detailers out there that take pride in their work.

Well the owner saw the write up today, he said that "[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]I'm taking some heat on there for having it such a mess, but chalk it up to inexperience in Detail Spray Usage at Car Shows".

lol. I made a separate post but...if anyone on here has some suggestions as to the best and safest/swirl free ways to keep the car clean at car shows. Ideas are welcome!

+1 The desert does hell to paint no matter how careful..... I'm looking into Opti coat for out here..

Haha thanks man. Yeah you have to have your head on right to work in that heat...we were both sweating buckets for sure..our little fan helped some but...still sweat was pouring (not on the paint though lol). The owner kept coming out offering us drinks etc...but we still had some in our ice chest..i think he thought we were going to pass out lol

Thanks a lot...glad you enjoyed it. I kinda liked doing the video ...it works really well incase you forget to do an after picture in an area that you did a really GOOD before picture....if you just do a nice video of the whole car in full light before and after...you've got a lot to work with :)

That was my first suggestion but he didn't want to haul a cpl buckets around with him....i left him a sample of ONR though to try out...guess you could always use it as a spray detailer..or just leave the car alone lol

Just mix it into a spray bottle. Same as using it as a clay bar lube.

Question: Did you offer to set up a monthly or even weekly maintenance program for the owner where you'll come by and wash and maintain the finish?


A car like that needs someone "touching" it that knows what they're doing.

I agree Mr. Phillips. After a couple of hack jobs I'm thinking the customer would go for letting this detailer come back.

Hey Mike,

First thanks a lot. I was really hoping you'd get to see my post...was big biggest job yet so I'm glad you swung by to check it out. He is out of state at the moment doing a car show...i might bring it back up to him but i THINK he has learned his lesson. While i was in his garage i noticed he had a two bucket system set up...couple of MF wash mits. Lots of nice MF towels. He even had the Spotless Rinse system that he said he loves.

He was pretty honest about formerly not knowing about correct technique and maintenance etc. He use to use a duster at the car shows...he learned real fast that wasn't the best idea. It seems that the damage he did was done on the road at shows...but at home he did everything correctly. Do YOU have any suggestions for touch up jobs at shows that will really be safe or would you suggest that the best and safest thing he could do is to just live with a light dust and take care of it after he gets it back home?

Thank you much Hoytman. I'll throw the idea out to him. He said other than the shows and maybe a cruise here and there, it stays covered in the garage....and said he had learned again, the hard way...to not drag the cover over the car when he put it on.

hahaha i post like 60 pictures and 2 videos and you STILL want more! Yeah that thing had more horses than you'd ever use. Seriously when he starts it up you have to step back or cover your ears lol...im sure he's waken up the neighbors more than once :) The interior was black and orange just like the outside. It took us 11 hours between the two of us so...22 man/woman hours total. We got there a little before 8 a.m and left a little after 7 p.m
