2010 Acura TL - Days of sweat

I have been a lurker here for the past few years and this will be my first post with PICTURES! :xyxthumbs:

Purchased a 2010 Acura TL in Crystal Black Pearl, now I understand that black car owners are truly a different breed of owners. My previous car was a white Prelude and it was easy to hide swirls. Now it's a different story.. Black paint will literally make your jaws drop when kept in prestine condition. But then again, the swirls under sunlight will get you to shake your heads in disappointment. After owning the car for 2 months now, I must have taken out the DA for swirl killing duties multiple times due to folks touching the glossiness of the paint and such..:buffing:

On to the detail... When I first picked up the car, it was heavily swirled in every panel of the body as well as a slight haziness to it in sunlight. Didn't take any before shots.... though I regret it but believe me, it was horrible and a nightmare!
I spent probably about 2 weeks of detailing, a few 6 hour days, few 2 hours after work, etc..

Thanks, been into the detailing game as a hobby for 3 years now, took a while to acquire the current arsenal I have now.. but still slowly increasing due to AG's sales :nomore:
 
That is one fantastic detailing job! Congratulations. I hope I can get my first detailing job half as nice....... but, mine is a titanium gray metallic metal flake which of course will never "pop" like your black.

What did you do to the inside and what did you use?

Agreed! Learning first hand that keeping it in tip top shape when the vehicle is my DD is driving me insane!
 
Great job! I love the CBP on my 09 TSX, but it takes a lot to work to keep clean though!!
 
I have a black car, too - this time, it's a black MB E550 (and before that was a brown Acura TL...). I also have been blown away by both the amount of work required on black cars and by the reception here at AG - this is a great group of people!

I will take some 'before' pictures before I start the work this weekend (I'm expecting my package from AG to arrive tonight), but right now, it's horribly filthy (my wife thinks I'm exaggerating, of course...) and just full of swirls and other nasties.

As another hobbiest-car enthusiast, I can only hope that my car comes out looking like this...

Thank you! The UPS tracking information has the box on a UPS truck since 4:49AM and it's been "out for delivery" with an ETA of "end of day" ...

It's the Acura OEM Aero kit includes side, rear and front under spoilers. Also added the Acura Midnight chrome grille front/rear.
