Was contacted to do a one step polish for this German beauty and it was the first time a car owner admitted that his paint was in horrible condition and boy he wasn't kidding. I always get the usual "My paint isn't that horrible" oh really, let's look at it under halogen bulbs or in direct sun. Car was covered in fall out, swirl marks, RIDS, waterspots you name it this car had it.
It was clear from the start this clear coat wasn't going to play ball, was barely making dents in it with lesser aggressive products. I decided to move up with wools pads and FG400 with my flex 3401. While it certainly corrected to 80% to 85% I would have had to wet sand other defects and wasn't about to on this daily driver. It's unfortunate BMW doesn't make the clear coat just a bit harder so it doesn't scratch at all
Products used
Dawn dish soap
Grout sponge
Riccardo Blue detailing clay
Flex 3401
LC purple wool pads
Menzerna FG400
Collinite 845
Wheels & Tires
Einszett Colour Tech wheel cleaner
Poorboys bold and bright
Here are some pics
