Was contacted to do a one step polish for this German beauty and it was the first time a car owner admitted that his paint was in horrible condition and boy he wasn't kidding. I always get the usual "My paint isn't that horrible" oh really, let's look at it under halogen bulbs or in direct sun. Car was covered in fall out, swirl marks, RIDS, waterspots you name it this car had it.
It was clear from the start this clear coat wasn't going to play ball, was barely making dents in it with lesser aggressive products. I decided to move up with wools pads and FG400 with my flex 3401. While it certainly corrected to 80% to 85% I would have had to wet sand other defects and wasn't about to on this daily driver. It's unfortunate BMW doesn't make the clear coat just a bit harder so it doesn't scratch at all
Products used
Dawn dish soap
Grout sponge
Riccardo Blue detailing clay
Flex 3401
LC purple wool pads
Menzerna FG400
Collinite 845
Wheels & Tires
Einszett Colour Tech wheel cleaner
Poorboys bold and bright

Thanks for looking

Looks great!

I find it odd that you had so much trouble with Alpine white... I would agree that it is not soft, but I just did a 335i and thought it was nice to work with. Guess that is a totally different vehicle and different year so who knows what could have changed in the paint process though!

nice work :applause:

what the hell did this guy do, rally it through the woodland brush?????

I've heard of others also having trouble with Alpine White with models built in Germany. I did a 335i in black last weekend and it corrected easily using PF2500 not sure where that model is built but it was a breeze to correct.

Think it was the previous owner who ruined it. Paint had never been coated with anything before I got my hands on it and thanks.

Looks great! I always say that white should glow...yours is! :xyxthumbs:

that finished up nice for a 1step polish. great work.

Thanks for the feedback fellas. :) I know a lot of detailers hate doing white cars but I find nothing pops more then a freshly polished white paint.
