Well you can safely assume I don't clean salt off many (if any) cars. But my best friend John decided to move down and come work at the 'Geek, and his brand new Mazdaspeed3 was in need of some SERIOUS attention after enduring a horrendous New York winter without a single wash.

The paint on this car was pretty hard and the swirling was "moderate". After all the filth was cleaned off, we went to town using the Wolfgang twins and topped it off with Fuzion. The detail was done over separate days in case you may be wondering why the "scenery" in the before/afters doesn't match.

Wash:

-Wash with DP Auto Bath, with Foamaster foam gun & 2 bucket method w/Grit Guards.
-P21S Gel Wheel cleaner, Daytona Speedmaster, Boar's hair wheel brush, Clean wheel lug nut brush.
-DP Cleanse-All on heavily soiled areas
-Lake Country sponges
-Guzzler Combo Kit

Clay:

-Pinnacle XMT Speed Clay, DP Clay Lubricant

Correction:

-Flex XC3401 VRG w/Tangerine Hydro-Techs and White LC Flat pads
-Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0
-Wolfgang Finishing Glaze 3.0

LSP:
-Wolfgang Fuzion Carnauba Polymer Estate Wax

With all the dirt gone, you can finally see the swirls!

Fuzion will not only make your paint more reflective, it will make you look even better in the reflections!

What a beautiful turn-around. That flake really pops now!! Looks awesome! :dblthumb2:

Nice work guys.

Hey Matt,

Lets see who is faster. The S2000 OR the Speed3.... he he he

I will bet on the Speed3 :iagree:

Wow, Mazda Paint is amazing. The flake is so nice! Good job on the turn around. Now he has to get into the addiction of keeping it that way! ;)

OK Matt, you're 1/2 done. What we see was on top side. Now it's time to "get down under" waiting for you to clean up.

nice work!

So let me get this straight, AG hired someone with their car looking like that?

Matt, out of curiousity, what speeds did you use on the 3401 with TSR and FG?

Yeah I actually go down to speed 5 when finishing sometimes. And speed 4 when applying wax/sealant. But when I'm removing defects, I can't see a reason to go below speed 6.

lol...yeah, I wasn't clear. I meant for correction and finishing. There would be no need for speed 6 for applying a sealant...haha

Well...in theory I COULD leave it on speed 6 when applying a sealant thanks to the variable speed trigger... ;)

great work on the turnaround! Curious though, in the before pics of the Mazdaspeed, please tell me that you had the hood cracked open? Otherwise, that's some serious hood/bumper gap. :( I don't think the gap exists in the aftershots. But I just wanted to make sure.
