2011 Cadillac Escalade - once in love with a tunnel wash

Fantastic work. Thanks for sharing. Whbat did you charge for that beast? Thx. Phil

Amazing job! You need to tell the daughter not to let that happen to her new one! Maybe get a good customer out of it!

Nicely done and nice pictures/post.

Just curious, how long did it take you for each step?

AJ

Thanks! The total time was around 20 hours. I lose track after about the 10th interruption from one of my kids!!

Huge transformation! Great job

Thanks!

Very rewarding feeling to return a vehicle like the Escalade back to it's former glory...

Thanks!

Great work on that monster.

Thanks - it was a beast!

Beautiful!

Thanks!

Hnice work. Beautiful.

Thanks!

That paint looks incredible. Did I miss your polish used? I see you used GG fast correcting cream and MF pads.

Nice garage btw. Very nice setup and like the floor. Bet a lot of ND winters are spent in there:)

Thanks! Yeah, I like to spend a lot of time out there!

Great write up!!! Fantastic work and pics too! I love the title of your thread as well..."once in love" LOL

Super results!

Thanks!

What pad was used for the wheels?

I used a 1" black foam pad on my Rupes Nano.

fantastic job, that's a lot of paint to polish - i bet you were tired when it was all said and done...

Thanks! Yes, this beast was a tiring job!

Fantastic job, excellent 50:50s as well! How long did this process take in total?

Thanks! Around 20 hours. It's a good thing I don't do this as a full time job, I'd be broke!! It seems like I'm getting a bit faster with each job but then I see posts from Mike stating he completes some cars in 6 hours and I feel really slow!!

Outstanding job! Love the 50/50 shots.

Thanks!

Great job on the wheels. After the pitting and chipping begins there's no going back on this specific type of thin coating.

Thanks!

Wow great turnaround! Turned it from grey back to black! Looked like a NYC livery vehicle with it's condition.

Thanks!

Wowzers! :props:

Thats some seriously nice craftsmanship. Stunning turn around, breathed some life back into that beast for sure. Lets hope it will never see another tunnel wash again. Beautiful work, thank you for sharing. :props:

Aaryn NZ.

Thanks! Far from the level of work I've seen of yours but I'm trying!!

Good stuff right there feel the glory !

Beautiful work. That was a great turn around.

Thanks!

Man you knocked that one out of the park. Way to give that customer a major return on their investment.

Excellent Job, Thanks for taking the time to document all the photos and process.

It's not the easiest to stay focused on detailing stop what your doing and take photos for the forum.

Thank's Keep up the great work!

Unreal!

Probably unrecognizable post detail.

Wow Great job, Im gearing up to do mine this spring. hope it comes out that nice !!!

Fantastic transformation. I love when vehicles are restored to showroom like condition. Especially when their a little bit older.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason why some of the "after" shots are void of the light reflection such as the front bumper and tailgate shots?

That looks amazing! Love how beautiful the black paint turned out.

1 quik question: You said you used both Shine Supply and Mckee's Tire & Rubber Rejuvenator on the tires, Shine Supply @2:1, but in your pic you said it was @3:1? And you used both? Which 1 do you use 1st? What's your exact process for cleaning the tires? I've been trying to dial in a process that works best.

Thanks! I guess I wasn't paying attention to whether or not the lights were on or not.

50/50 shots I always leave the lights on to highlight the difference between the sides. After finishing a section or panel I often turn off my tripod lights and use my handheld Scangrip light to look at the paint from different angles - I probably snapped a few after doing that.

Thanks! I just noticed that typo regarding the Shine Supply after you pointed it out. This was one of the first times I used SS Wise Guy and it was diluted 1:3.

I had planned on coating the tires with M37 Tire Coating so I did a final step on the tires with M37 Tire & Rubber Rejuvenator which probably wasn't needed but the coating recommends using it first.
