I purchased a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee a couple of weeks ago. Just got the chance to do a new car detail. When doing the wheel wells I found them to be just a pain. They are made of a fiber type material. It was like trying to clean a felt hat. The dirt and sand just sticks to them and they are not easy to clean. I hate them. I won't be able get that nice shiny wheel well look anymore. What where they thinking when they designed these?

I work at a jeep dealer .Im a tech new they were going to be a problem when i saw them.Road salt is going to be a real sob to get off

My Audi has a similiar material in the wheel wells and I am not fond of it.

Jeep needs to bring back the plastic wheel wells...

I see the fabric wheel wells all the time...so far, the best way i've found to clean them is with a vacuum and soft brush attachment. You can protect them pretty easily with the raggtop fabric top protectant aerosol.

I dont know about this material but Megs ASD works great on the sound deadening material on my Ford.

I find those felt wheels wells to be a pain too. I usually blast them real good with some APC, and my air gun. That's after it's already been pressure washed too. That material just holds on to dirt. But I do find it to pop loose fairly easy with an air gun. :xyxthumbs:

Those are a job I bet the Tornador would do well on. I've generally just used my pressure wand on them after soaking them in APC, but I'd love to give the cleaning gun a try sometime.
