2011 Sierra: The Power of DG 501

Richy - does 501 by itself have enough paint protection that you didn't worry to top it with anything like 105 or even 845?
501 by itself is good. Topped with 105 is better. That combo topped with 845 will last a year. That's the combo I use for a Funeral Home client's cars.

Is the 501 capable of removing an swirls by itself?
Probably, yes, but as you know there are no absolutes in detailing.

rich.. with 501, do you work in and let dry to a haze, or wipe off immediately? nice job...
I work it in slowly and then buff it off. I do it similarly to this video I shot, although maybe a bit faster than this, but not much:

Excellent work Richy! those reflection shots you took of the paint look FLAWLESS to say the least. Keep it up, I'm always reading your tips!
Thanks, since my company is called Flawless Reflections, it was a shameless plug, LOL!!

Wow, very impressive. How much cut would you say that DG501 has? Comparable maybe to Meg 205?
Not as much cut, but then it has a strong sealer to it too, so it doesn't really compare to M205. Compare it to something like XMT 360. It blows that away. I have a bottle of 360 with a lot of dust on it!!

Another cool thing about 501 is that you can apply it to the whole vehicle in the sun, and then go around and remove it no problem
Nice to know, thanks.

Helluva job :xyxthumbs:! I'm looking to invest in a quality AIO. How would say it compares to Klasse?
I can't comment as I've never used Klasse. It is a fantastic product, I will tell you that!

Yea i remember reading another thread where you were talking about those 3 products layered and the protection they offered.... I used those three products on my truck before winter and 7 months later, it took 3 washes with OPC and the last OPC wash was a 50/50 mixture... My roof and hood were still beading a little! I love DG... I have sent you a PM a few weeks ago to discuss the DG beta sealant... could you please let me know if you recived that PM?

Such a man among boys you are!! Beautiful!! :dblthumb2:

Which exact Uber towel did you use?

Thanks Al, I really appreciate the kind words! I'd love to see an Equus with a diesel engine for great mileage and an 8 speed transmission. I love the Lincoln, but will probably transition back to a car once I sell it as my girls will be older by then and I don't think I'll need an SUV per se.
As far as the Galaxy goes, I'm a diehard Iphone fanatic. Honestly, I have never loved any electronic gadget more than my iphone and am looking very forward to the new i5 coming out..hopefully soon! It's a very competitive market out there for phones which is great as it keeps everyone on their toes.

Dang, I missed responding to that PM. Sorry. Response sent. I'm not surprised that it took some very aggressive measures to remove that combo of products from the paint. The funeral home gets a year out of that combo and that's with hand washing damned near every day!

Mark, my man's sense of humour gets me in trouble on here, LOL. The Uber towel was this bad boy HERE, the ultra.

Richly, quick pad question: I have the GG DA and recently purchased some tangerine Hydrotech pads. Do you believe these are a good choice for DG 501 as an AIO? If so, at what speed would you recommend that I use?

Wow awesome turn around! I love your ingenuity with the Opti Bond application. Makes so much sense, and the results show it!

That sounds like it would work just fine. I'd try it at 5 or 6 and then slow it down to 4 for the last pass.

man, you done a great job one this one
Thanks very much!

Thanks, but I can't take credit for that...it was Chris from Optimum who first suggested it. I've been wanting to try it for a while now. I like that method a lot!

Thanks for this thread. I learned a lot. I will order 501, 105 and maybe aquawax next order.

Glad to help. I got the DG line recommended to me years ago by AGOL members Sparkie and AL-53. We're all here to help each other and pass along what works. (Get AW: it rocks!)
