After months of anticipation and years of speculation, the redesigned 2012 BMW 3-Series is here. I eagerly await upcoming comparisons in all my favorite automotive publications. However, knowing how seriously BMW takes the 3-Series, I doubt a comparison will even be necessary. :applause:

For all you hardcore BMW aficionados, do you give it a YAY or a NAY? Feed back please

Press Release said:
The BMW 3-Series Sedan is the original in the compact sports sedan segment and over the years has come to symbolise the aesthetic appeal, dynamics and sporting capability of BMW. With its dynamic and elegant lines, the sixth model generation of the world's best-selling premium vehicle highlights the sporting character of the brand's mid-size model. Although the new BMW 3-Series has grown in all dimensions compared to its predecessor, it retains a perfect balance of sportiness and elegance. As in previous generations, the sedan's dynamic proportions are shaped by the sweeping bonnet, short front overhang, long wheelbase and set-back greenhouse typical of BMW.

2012 BMW 3-Series :righton:

I personally haven't liked a BMW since the E46 M3. I think they are going the wrong way in terms of looks (looking like every other car on the road). Just my .02.

I'm not sure if I'm really excited to see the new design of the 3 series. I don't like the body colored metal piece between the grille and the hood. Makes the car look awkward.

Who knows it might be completely different when I see it in person. This is what I felt with the E90.

Forgive me if I'm not impressed.... I actually like the current 3-Series better.

The interior looks great and I am sure the technology is state of the art..the outside however lacks style; if that car drove past me on the road I wouldnt give it a second look.

So far it looks like 5 nays and growing

Because of this feature alone.....

YAY!n:righton:

On a serious note, some cars take a while to grow on you when redesigned. I remember when the current generation Acura TSX came out how much I despised its styling and thought the previous gen was classier and more tasteful. On the road, however, it was a totally different story. After the newest body style grew on me, the last gen TSX looks plain and boring while the current gen is fresh, cutting edge, and all around handsome. :D

Give it time fellas! :p

Last gen Mugen TSX owns any new car from Acura. IMO they are trying to look more and more like space ships....

Dave,

You seem awfully hard to please tonight. How about a Volkswagen UP with some good mood food from Arby's? :p

I think it looks good. :dunno:

I dont know what it is you guys expect out of BMW. But for me, I dont really follow their car designs or anything like that. I think it looks good.

Gotta remember, they need to make it appealing to the general(dumb) public. Im sure the M3 will be what you guys are looking for.

BMW is losing it's uniqueness. It was only a few years ago that you saw a BMW and KNEW it was a BMW and it was a great car, if that thing drove by I would think it was just a Lexus, Hyundai, Acura and not really care.

LOL Nick! I actually saw a write up of one of these on another fourm and it just made me laugh. Thanks for keeping the mood light! :)

I detailed a 2008 M3. I fell in love with that car! Looks AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I HATE it. And I will love it in 10 years when I can afford it, like my current '01 325i ;)

Thats because those companys are stepping it up in the looks department and bmw hasnt changed much.

"Last" gen 3series was boring and now this is taking it up a notch.

The interior is really losing it.

I do like the new front end... Reminds me of the 8 series a little.
