I was contacted by my client after taking delivery of his 2012 458 Italia. He was extremely disappointed with the overall condition of this car at the time of delivery. I was called in to bring the cars overall appearance to a proper state, so let's get on with it.

After retrieving the car.

All rubber trim would need attending to. Notice the compound residue.

Now remember the PPF mentioned earlier?

These defects are caused due to installer error and lack of pride in your work. This installer has been doing this for seven years and still can't get it right. If I did the install it would never leave with defects like these.

your client should refer the dealership to this thread AND ask to be compensated for the cost of the detail.

The body and wheels look fantastic! I will say this, i dont think enough people give clear/clean windows on a car the credit they deserve. It really can make or break a car detail, though a lot of people never seem to notice it! It makes a world of a difference on this Ferrari.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. I would be bitchn big time @ the dealership to get compensated for the cost of the detail. Unless they discussed it up front (hard not to see the issues and clearly the owner is educated) and the owner didn't want the dealership's "guy" to do the work. Figured out what it would cost and deducted it from the sales price - at least that's what I hope happened. Condition of that car delivered was shameful. Great job btw - gorgeous car.

WTF???????????????????? How in the world can a car of that magnitude be delivered like that??

Very nice job! :dblthumb2:

I would have refused the car and contacted Ferrari about a dealer letting some hacks work on my car prior to delivery if they refused to correct the issue.

$200-300k for a scratched, swirled, residue covered car with defects in the clear bra? No thanks.

Absolutely fantastic recovery. I need to change my undies just THINKING about removing those decals. If I were attempting that, "nervous" doesn't quite cover how I'd feel. Beautiful car. I'm sure the owner is happier than when he actually got to drive it home!

I don't think it was the dealer, I think the car came like that from Ferrari??

There's only so much of that which can be written off as standard acceptable defects and post-transport cleaning issues.

I would have a hard time accepting a new Hyundai in that kind of shape. But a Ferrari? Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

What a gorgeous car the 458 is! And you made it look how it's supposed to. Well done! :xyxthumbs:

I've read that it's the norm with Ferrari somewhere else as well. Either way, I can't believe the dealer would just leave that crap all over the car!

Nice work!! Such a gorgeous car!!!! :)

WHAT THE HECK IS "CAR WASH MODE"?

If the car is delievered from Ferrari like that that's unacceptable, period but then if falls to the dealership to take care of that, period! You've got a car that cost about a quarter of mill there, what, you can't have the detailer for the dealership to "make love" to the car for a day or two? It would go like this, "listen, you've got 2 days to make this car look its very best, your not working on anything but this 458, understood!" How hard is it, I know this, I'd love to that job, I'm no expert but there's no way the car would leave the dealership I'm working at looking like that. I guess you get what you pay for huh, can't cut costs in the detailing department of a high end dealership, I mean you only get one chance to make a first impression and based on what we all saw in those first pics, well, the owner wasn't impressed!

BTW, did that blue C5 get some attention too?!

AGAIN, WHAT'S CAR WASH MODE?
