Bobby I've reported you for posting porn.
Seriously, gonna make a grown man cry posting pics like that.
Maybe on the straights. There is no way a Mustang is going to out handle a ZR-1 Corvette. Were you referring instead to the Camaro ZL-1?
Not a ZR-1 and a 08 Gt but interesting

I think the Mustang driver is a much better driver than the Corvette Drivers, and he is driving the wheels off that car. There are moments early on in which the Corvette absolutely leaves the Mustang for dead, but then the Mustang catches them in the corner by out braking them. 2:13-2:28 , 2:37-3:03 This tells me that the Corvette drivers simply aren't pushing their cars very hard. The difference here is the driver. In addition, the Mustang has an upgraded suspension.
Clearly, the video does prove that a Mustang can be a great performer, and seems faster than I thought, but still isn't as fast as a Vette, nor does it look as neat. To me, the Vette is about 3x better looking. My favorite Mustang is the GT350, but the Boss 302 is also neat. I am not a Ford guy though. I was raised on Chevys, and it runs deep. The only Fords I would own would be the 1966 Batmobile, the GT-40, the Cobra Daytona Coupe, the Shelby Cobra, the Shelby GT350, the 34 Ford 3 window, and the 1962 Thunderbird, in that order. If you count the 49-51 Mercury, I would own that too. I don't much care about any other Ford ever made. You failed to mention the Vettes were also modified. I would hope the Vettes would pull away in the straights with the horsepower advantage. And agree, I also think the Stang driver is a better driver. But, that Stang was hanging with modified Vettes in the twisties. Not knocking Vettes. I have one toorops:

Congrats on the Vette and on the excellent color choice. I just find the Mustangs to be too boxy to be beautiful, but they do look neat though.
No I meant ZR-1. Who said anything about straights or handling? GT 500 is worthy of a side-by-side comparison for about half the money. And let's be real here, you'd have to be a very talented driver to keep the Z under control around hard corners. No Joe Schmoe car there. Might be the same story with the Mustang, but bang for the buck, it's even on top of the GTR.

Independent test of the 2013 GT500 made 601hp at the wheels. This can be yours at the ridiculously low MSRP of $55k. Dealer markups may play a factor, haven't heard anything on that just yet.
The GTR makes 545 *flywheel* hp and now retails at $98k
The ZR-1 makes 638 *flywheel* hp and is going for about $113k before any dealer markups, which are fairly common.
The 2013 GT500 is a bargain to say the least. I'm a HUGE GTR fanboy and I knew my comment would step on some toes but please enlighten me a little further on what was so wrong with my statement.
This is my last post here that won't be directed toward the original topic at hand. If you have any replies please PM me I already feel terrible about jacking this thread lol.
Congrats, awesome car! I love the green. It's Mustang fever this month for some reason.
I should be able to do that for you.I love the way Ford gave the 2013 mustangs a GT500 style front. I'm only 37, but I've been driving Mustangs since I received my license at 16. I'm a little nervous about the new body style in 2015. My first Mustang was a white '89 Fox Body. Wish I still had it.
Fastfred, if you have time, would you mind posting a picture of the engines in the Shelby and Boss? Don't worry if it's dirty. Thanks.
Again, CONGRATS on both cars. Wish I had them in my stable.![]()
