FishinCricket, I agree with what your sayin' to a point but ofcoarse there was a time where WE set the standards of the world and not the other way around, just wish all the bright people we've got could show what they've got to offer and if the 2014 is the best they can do, well, raise the white flag! They (=hrsler group) axed the Viper a couple years ago and look at what they did, brought it back and gave it a modern look that's still pure Viper! Yes the front end looks like a Ferrari but you'll still know its a Viper. The Corvette on the other hand looks like a Viper coming down the road and going away you see Camaro DNA, shouldn't it be the other way around?! Back in the day there was no DNA from any other car in the Corvette and now look what's happening, very dissapointed!
Once again, we (Americans) like the looks of imports, sure but there's gotta be a way to make it look sharp but decidingly American, look at the 1963-67 Corvette when compared to something European back then, it looked just as good and would make us proud which it did IMO! I'll go as far as say that parked next to a then 8 year old 300 SL Gullwing, the 63 Corvette looked European and American at the same time. In the 60's the Corvette had THREE distictive looks, wake up GM and make us proud once again......PLEASE!
Examples of setting standards in style-
-65 Riviera
-66 Toro
-63 Corvette
