2014 Corvette Unveiling - 7 pm EST Tonight!

From the pics I think it's a mess. Weird, dis-jointed design that looks like a bad transformers car. It doesn't flow. I agree with other posters that the front is too Viper and the rear is too Camaro. The high black valance looks strange and the black wheels are too much. And the vents are overdone.

But maybe it'll look better in person.

Very well said but the last time I changed my mind about not liking a new design of something was when the then new for 1994 Dodge Ram came out.

Seems to me the new Corvette is trying to be all things to all people. I do spy a little 50's Corvette in the grill, sans chrome for plastic teeth.

What an exorbitant customs-rate on vehicles!
(And I thought the "Corvette Tax" was outrageous here in the States)

If I may...
What are the brand-names of vehicles that are available locally to Israelis?

And...
-Don't worry about not currently having a Corvette to drive around...
They'll build you one when you come home to the USA.

As such...
I wish you the best...in that quest.

:)

Bob

Well, Almost everything Is available in Israel, But we don't have every model for every company...
Some things that I CAN think of, we are missing:
Mustang, Corvette, Scion and much more....
A cheap Ferrari here in Israel Costs about 320,000$ - 350,000$
My Subaru Costs about 66,000$ ! U.S is about 23,000$ - 25,000$... Just Crazy!

Wow....another charity car at Barrett-Jackson, who would'ive guessed it....let me guess Ron Pratt is going to buy it, right. Sorry to say it like this but I'm getting tired of all the charity cars at BJ, its getting old and tired. I can understand one real special situation but there's too many of them and it looks bad to see Steve and Keith up there begging and begging for more money and throwing in hats, shirts and coats to get the car to sell, pathetic!

Wheels do help anything and those are stunning! The color looks waaaaaaay better than that red/redish-orange for sure IMO too. Is it me or does the wheelbase look longer?

We're going to wait to see what the convertible looks like...

C7Convertible.jpg

^^^Pretty Nice^^^...Except:
(Except) For that simulated-chrome piece on the front clip's 'grill'...
(That'll be my first 'mod'.)

Also...
For my second "mod": Debadge the new, so-called Sting Ray/Stingray logo...If I remember correctly:

None of the previous Corvettes ever had a logo of a cartilaginous fish on them!!

:)

See now I like the logo, a lot and plan on buying one and putting it up with my other Corvette collectables. I agree about the chrome strip too.

The best mod for the new Corvette is not checking the box for the black wheels.

Here's some interesting changes to the lamps:

I think if the black lower valance was PTM'd along with the black around the tail lights, it would look a lot better. The headlights in the front should have been different, they are way to similar to the Viper.

I like these pics much better, I take it its photoshopped? If so, someone send them to the GM TechCenter in Warren MI or down to Bowling Green AT ONCE!

I read this on a Corvette forum and I agree with most of it:

For me, I gotta see it in person.
What I do like:
Silver color
Front view
Seats
What I'm neutral on:
Side view
What I hate:
Hideous red.
Steering wheel is horrible.
Dash
Rear end
All the venting everywhere.
They definately seem to be going after younger crowd but as a result the car definately does not have elegance.

I like very few american cars with the exception of Mr. Shelby's creations (I know I'm walking on very thin ice here...) and this is not one of them...

The best shot so far:

The first retail production was just auctioned right now at the Barrett-Jackson on Speed channel. Bid ended at a 1,050,000.00!

It didn't just auction off, it auctioned off to Rick Hendrick, with a bit of prodding from Jeff Gordon! (this was Jeff's first BJ Scottsdale) He's a regular at Barrett Jackson and I've seen him buy a number of VIN#1's from Camaro to Corvette. I'd love to see his collection when I'm up that way! :)

FWIW it was the first car sold after the Batmobile which brought $4,620,000 after buyer fees. Holy junk car Batman!
