2014 Fall Dragon Run...10/8 thru 10/12

Well Ron, I'm not an official tour guide but I've been going since 2003 and know my way around down there, so when your ready, I'll be here. I will make the effort again to invite AG'ers out to the run for 2015, count on it.

Just a heads up, I come down from Chicagoland and its about $400.00 for the long weekend, give or take and it really depends on how far away your coming from and what kind of mpg's your car gets. For us its about a 625 mile drive roughly and is WELL WORTH IT!

I just wish I had the time right now :(

I've heard so much about it, probably print the map etc once a month and drool/dream.

Vette gets incredible mileage in touring or eco mode. So most of the $$$ will be lodging and FOOD. I here there is some great food to be had too

"Eco Mode" and Corvette, what's that?

Oh, I forgot the new C7 has cylinder deactivation, LOL!. I didn't realize there was an "eco" button though. I like how you said "good luck this time around GM" but you know what, it seems to work as its been back for years now, I know the FWD Impala SS had it a couple years ago.

I loved that 4-8-6 badge on those early 80's Caddy's, I was in grade school then but being into cars I did remember seeing that, also the DIESEL Sevilles, OMG has Cadillac come a looooooon way!

What is this Dragon you speak of?

LOL Im the MAN

There will be a seperate thread with stories and LOTS of pics. I really hope to get a number of AG'ers to come out next year. I tried this year but it didn't work out too well for whatever reason, kinda bummed out about it as I've always had sucess inviting out people from other forums.

If there's anyone on the fence about this all I can tell you is this, pics and YouTube do it NO justice, trust us! Its pretty easy to go, just make your reservation with us, get the time off of work 10 monthes in advance and your all set. There's NO need to really know the people going as we've had noobs come out with us before but with all of being car guys, there was no ice to break. It takes us 10 hrs to get there but we've got guys that come up from FLA where it takes longer but once your there, its all worth it. The time of the year we chose is because of the color change but that varies on the weather, seems like its been a little cooler this year so hopefully the color is good but nonetheless, the green is something to see down there as well!

Any questions you have, drop me a PM.

Yup, its something everyone should experience or sure :dblthumb2:

The only problem I have is Oct is never a good time of year for me/us to go. Too many things going on.

Oh no, say it isn't so! I'll keep my fingers crossed that something opens up for you guys and you can make it out. Its really nice out there that time of the year too and a little less congested too from what I hear also. I know its not good to always be stuck in your way but as you can relate Monica, we go that time of the year also so we've got something fresh in our minds to get us through the winter:props:

I know what the date says in the title but we're not going to be down there till the 9th, around mid afternoon. My buddy Derek and I will arrive then, later Jim and Dennis will arrive in the X-Runner and sometime around dinner this lady Marge will arrive in her Cougar along with her daughter and a friend in their Kia Soul, both of which have 3 pedals. Marge was an SCCA member for over 10 years and although she's a little older she can handle a car without a doubt! The rest of our group is staying near Gatlinburg and another cabin down the street from them, so our group at the Dragon Pitt Inn is only a portion of the group but that's ok.

BTW Stewart chimed in to also tell us how many days are left:

Making a recovery from the last post, BB King let's us know how many days it is now!

On a sidenote, he's a living legend! Just listen to the silky tone in that guitar, oh I'm sorry, Lucille:props:

Great pic Derek, ahhhh, the good ole' days! Claude looks great in that position!
