After being a day late & driving my schedule into a frenzy a good customer of mine dropped off his beat to shreds daily driver Mercedes S550.

Sad, but happy, why? This car is my official last detail in the great state of Massachusetts as I move to a much bigger operation in my home town of Long Island, NY... I always had a dream of opening my own shop and getting out of my house garage and in 2 weeks once construction is done, i'll be opening a beautiful state of the art 2 car shop with all the bells and whistles.

This vehicle as you will see was in tough shape. A real swirled up mess with dull black paint.

The trunk paint was lacking any life

I had to Dr. Colorchip and wet sand the front bumper as it too was a mess

Paint thickness readings were as follows

Test spot was performed on the right side of the tape line using G21 with a Boss Foam Microfiber Pad and Griots Fast Perfecting Cream. As you will see the color came back to life fast!

Paint Porn

Next we tackled the interior. It received Pinnacle Interior coating on the cockpit instrument panel, C-Quartz Leather on the seats, G-Techniq Fabric on all mats and carpets. First we lit the interior up a bit using a new tool. Quite handy

All customers receive their before & after pictures, paint thickness readings, catalogs for products used and a few samples of products for them to try.

Coating 22pleVX Pro 2 was used and cured via infrared lamp. 22ple VS1 Final Coat was applied after coating was dry. I must say, for customers who are willing to pay a premium for this application, they are sure getting their money's worth. The coating is flat out stunning and truly makes paint drip with gloss and shine. 22ple VX Pro Glass coating was applied to windows, and Pinnacle Black Label Wheel Coating was applied to all rims.

Thanks for looking as always, comments always appreciated. I'll be signing off for a bit until my new operation is up and running.

Freaking Awesome!!!! And may success follow you in your new shop!!!

Stunning work. Unfortunately, I can't see him keeping it looking that way based on the condition it was in, even with the coating. Sad to see for a 2014 model.

What an outstanding job. Good luck with your new shop.

I appreciate the kind words!

I usually refuse to ever do a correction if the owner isn't willing to maintain it. In my estimate I go over proper care and sell the buckets, microfibers, etc...if they are committed to the maintenance then we move forward. It's a lot of $$ for the customer and a lot of my time for them to run it through a car wash a week later. I would typically see this car in 6 months for a refresh where I could knock down any swirling.

What an outstanding job. Good luck with your new shop.
Thank you. I'll need it!

Looks great! That was in pretty bad shape and now looks better than new!

Can you share what LED light your using on the interior and what paint thickness meter? Sorry, I like technology too..

Wow incredible work, it's sad to see a great detailer leave our great state of Massachusetts, I hope you stay a Patriots fan and don't become a New York Jets fan :argue:

Go Patriots :dblthumb2:

Do a search for "the claw" detailing light. Out of respect for the forum I won't put a link. As for the PTG Defelsko PosiTector 6000 FNS1 Coating Thickness Gauge (with 3ft probe) Includes Software!

Thanks for your kind words, but I'm that guy in New England who has the NFL package so I can watch my pathetic JETS!

So how did you like the Griots fast correcting cream? It definitely looks like it finished out nice. Great job!

Very nice work! Congratulations and best of luck with your new shop!!! Keep us posted...and we will want pictures of the new place too of course!

Great job Scott! Can't wait see new shop this week

Dennis, we need to pour a new concrete floor. The current one is not level & we can't lay out racetrack flooring so I'll be delayed coating the Audi.

The fast correcting cream is beyond awesome. Can't say enough good things about it.

Very nice work! Congratulations and best of luck with your new shop!!! Keep us posted...and we will want pictures of the new place too of course!

You got it! And thanks for the best wishes.

HOLY COW! What amazing work! If this is what you can do in a home garage - you will be unstoppable.

thanks for your feedback, i've been wanting to try this out! :xyxthumbs:

Go for the 128oz. Much better value and trust me you'll want more when that 16oz runs out! Griot's has themselves a pure winner here.
