From work truck to Show truck!
I had a client who wanted his daily driver taken care of. I’ve worked on his awesome GTO in the past.
A minor correction and ceramic coating was on deck for this daily driver that lives outside 24/7/365.
The paint was in atrocious condition and needed to be corrected badly! The finish came out great with a huge improvement and an impressive amount of gloss! It is now protected from the elements for the foreseeable future.
Rinseless washed with McKee’s N914. (Client brought it over clean).
Clayed with Griot’s medium mitt and Dodo Born slippery as lube.
Defelkso PTG.
Scangrip lighting.
Misc MF towels.
Flex 3401
Megs burgundy medium cut foam pads.
M105 and M205.
McKee’s N914 in paint prep ratio for final wipedown.
NanoPro Pro9H ceramic coating on paint and trim.
SCG Pro tire dressing.
Blackfire glass cleaner.
McKee’s fast metal polish on exhaust tips.

Very nice work as usual. I like the detail shots of the windshield cowling, tail lamps, and piano black trim.

What did you use to polish the truck nuts? :)

Thanks everyone!!

Bob, I didn't touch them except for some N914, LOL!!!

Show truck indeed, wow. I see that Lions sticker :) I'd love to drive a black truck if it looked like that at all times. Pretty daring in Florida!

I have a couple of questions for you. but let me start by saying, great job. I've got a 2015 ram 1500 in the same color. I don't have a PTG as was wondering about the thickness of the clearcoat. do you consider those thickness numbers high or low ? also I find my paint to be on the soft side, was that the same case with that truck ? thanks, Carlo

Thanks for the comments everyone!!!

Thanks Carlo! This truck has had a lot of body/paint work in it's history. That's why the readings were so high. The paint, for the most part, was on the 'soft' side. In some areas that had some work, it was noticeably 'harder'.

Hope this helped you!

Scott thanks, appreciate you getting back to me. knowing my truck I thought those numbers were on the high side.
