Hey Guys,
I did a friend's 2015 C63 AMG today. The NJ weather seems to be somewhat cooperative so far this winter, with temps at 40 today you jump at the chance to do what you love. Anyway, this thing is a best - something like 475 bhp (?) and a monstrous exhaust note!! Anyway the car came in with a fair amount of swirls, a few sizeable scratches. Other than that, it's red and the paint needed a little "brightening up" and protection for the winter. I gave her the following treatment today:
- Wash (Griot's Brilliant Finish) 530 MF to dry
- Clay (Meguire's clay with XMT detail mist as lube)
- Polish 1 (XMT3) with BOSS Orange pads on a GG6. Ate up most of the scratches and swirls but didn't finish down as nicely as I wanted. Wasn't bad, but wasn't perfect either. A second, lesser aggressive polishing was required after and I was OK with that. This was not a car to be rushed.
- Polish 2 (McKee's 37 360 with LC CCS white pads) on a GG6. This finished off nicely, and clarified the paint after the first polishing.
- Liquid Wax/Sealant (Griot's Best of Show) - by hand - and applied for protection on top of the 360
- Paste Wax (SSII) - by hand
- Wheels (Pinnacle Advanced Wheel Cleaner)
- Tires cleaned with Griot's Rubber Cleaner, Dressed with Griot's Long Lasting Tire Gel.
- Interior (DP Cleaner and Protectant). Ironically this car's seats are NOT made of leather
- Windows (Pinnacle Crystal Clear w/ Rain Repellent)
It took the better part of the day, but I thoroughly enjoyed making this beauty shine. What a car!
Enjoy,
ScottH
