This client was a referral. The Cayman was a Mother’s Day present for his wife. They wanted to get it ceramic coated for the protection and ease of cleanup/maintenance they provide.
The vehicle’s paint was in very good condition considering it has only been touched by the dealer. It had some minor swirls and marring that needed to be removed prior to being coated.

Tools/chemicals/processes/etc:

2BW with Adam’s car shampoo.
MF chenille wash mitts.
Iron decontamination was achieved with a beta test iron remover. (and it actually smelled fantastic if you can believe that!)
Clayed via Griot’s medium grade mitt.
Blow dry with Metro master blaster.
Paint readings by Defelsko.
Rupes Mark II 21, iBrid and 3” were utilized.
Misc. foam pads.
McKee’s37 polish was used to clean up the paint surfaces.
Misc. MF towels.
CarPro Eraser for final wipe down.
LSP was 22ple Mistico Elemento Forte.
Wheels were washed and clayed.
Tires were cleaned with Adam’s tire and rubber cleaner.
Wheel wells cleaned with Adam's APC.
Wheels were coated with 22ple VM1.
Calipers were cleaned and coated with 22ple VM1.
Wheel wells were cleaned with Adam’s APC and coated with Pro9H ceramic coating.
Exhaust tips were cleaned and coated with 22ple VM1.
Glass was cleaned with Adam’s glass cleaner and dedicated glass MF towels.
Ranger QuickJack for vehicle lifting duties.
Matco torque wrench for proper wheel lug torque.
Tire dressing was GYEON Tire. Baked on.
Vacuumed via Metro.
Interior cleaned up with McKee’s37 quick interior detailer.
Leather seat surfaces were coated with Gtechniq leather guard.

Thank you for taking the time to read/look at my post, and if there are any questions, please feel free to ask!

Thanks!

Paint after polishing. GREAT color/flake!

Awesome job Scott, as usual. I bought a brand new 2006 Cayman S and loved that car and it sounded amazing with the TUBI exhaust I had on it. I recently test drove a new one and it did nothing for me with the flat 4 cylinder turbo. I'd have to go GT4 if staying in the Cayman range.

Great work as always. Most thorough and consistent procedure on the forum. Love it!

Thanks everyone!!!!

WaxMaster1: yeah, it sounds like a Subaru. Really. I know a few people who have not purchased a new/718 due to the 4 cylinder and picked up a nice used earlier model with the flat 6. TUBI!!! Oh yeah! Must sound awesome!

Looks very nice! The paint is really classy looking on that car

I've been following the progress on instagram.

As always, great job on the write up. I'm really tired of white cars, but white Porsche's with black wheels I would gladly live with. That came stock with Michelin's?

Wife and I looked at and drove a newer Boxster (essentially the same as a Cayman). Nice enough car. She's not trading her flat-six for a turbo 4. The Turbo 4 is better on paper and quicker. The flat-six pulls better between ~4000-6500 rpms. And and you guys mentioned, nothing else has that sound (kind of a flat-six rumble).

The GTS is a nicely optioned car. I'm very much trying to get the wife to go for a GT4. (Kids can fund their own college.) Also eyeing a use Cayman R. Not close to a GT4 but better performance that a Cayman S. Cayman is just such a fun car. Almost like a big go-cart.

Nice car,,I'd drive it :D,,but then again I have a very boring Accord ,,LOL

btw, my wife doesn't get the appeal of black wheels. She also isn't the one who cleans her wheels.

Thanks for the comments everyone!!!! Rippy, yes they come with Miche's from the factory. I don't blame her...she has the best color on her Boxster now! LOL

JD, very cool! Thanks for following on IG!!

Thanks again everyone!

Thanks for all the details, nice work. I’m new to detailing (took Mike’s class in NJ in June n am hooked). I have a 718 CaymanS n am still pondering what to coat with, was leaning toward Duragloss 111 or Collinite 845 until I get more practice on ceramic coating (just did my wife’s Lexus Is350 with Gteq EXO v4.0 n it turned out good, no high spots, ). Will try BLACKFIRE ceramic coating on my sister SUV in a few weeks. Maybe by then will feel comfortable with the coating process and prep work . Reading n watching autogeek videos for info

^^Thank you Markymapo, I'm glad my posts help some people out! Read and watch all you can, then get out there and try it!
