Not the best pics but it was a busy day getting my new girl all cleaned up and coated for winter:

  • Rinseless Washed
  • Nano Sponge Fine Grade
  • CarPro Essence Polish on White Hybrid Force Pads
  • Flex 3401 Forced Rotation buffer
  • McKee's 37 v2 Formulation SiO2 Coating
  • McKee's Glass Coating

The only quick non-detail item I knocked out was badging the back decklid.

Wow, very nice. That's a combo of products that I would have used too. From your signature, it looks like you traded the Audi?

Congrats the car looks great. I’ve always liked Infinity’s styling.

It’s gotta be a little nerve racking getting a brand new car at the start of winter. I’m guessing many bi-weekly washes will be in your future:)

Congratulations on the new ride. Oustanding work, especially considering the weather. Going to be 36ish in the am in Tampa tomorrow!

I love the Q50, just one thing, imho skip the red outlines you were posting about the other day, keep it clean and black :dblthumb2:

At the end of the day it's your ride, but that red line on the headlight, ehhhh.

I am surprised you picked this over an Audi since you already owned one.

My buddy test drove the Q50 amongst others and bought a 2 year old A6 S line which he traded a couple months ago for the A5 Sportback S Line which is totally awesome. I love that car.

I'm still driving my Rogue LOL.

It's always nice dry and 72* in my garage ;)

I get a little of that now and then but hey, I dig it. This go-round I'm going to have them in a little darker shade that matches the calipers. Thin so they won't jump out mind you.

I loved my Audi and owned it out-right but the new ones aren't out there much in terms of program cars and the ones I have found were pricey. The other aspect is I've already owned one and know the routine with them. This car is a short term lease as I still have my eye on a Tesla at some point. Audi's don't incentivize leases at all so they tend to be overpriced. This car is incentivized nicely and they negotiated a deal that was outstanding. Nearly $10k off the price that resulted in a lease price that I couldn't refuse. It's less than $90 more per month than a fully loaded Accord 2.0T.

I sold the Audi yes. Will miss her but in the end it was the right thing to do. I'm using the equity to buy my wife a new car in the spring and likely a smaller car for my son shortly after.

Yeah, he bought the A6, but this time leased the A5. I like the Q50 heheheeeheehehhe :dblthumb2: It'a beauty for sure!!!!

Looks great---I gotta get mine ready for winter too!!! Snowed yesterday and I'm not feeling motivated to go out there and get er done!

Wow what a great looking car! You did a beutieful job!

I posted in the "what did you do detail related today" about debadging the front fenders, looks kinda busy, IMO. I see you did the rear and it's smooth back there, tie it in

You mentioned a smaller car for your son, well, I'm sure an incredible deal can be had on an Abarth and they even make em' with 2 pedals in case your son can't drive a stick

Looking forward to this build thread!

Car looks great! Any issues with the Mckees paint coating? I just used it (the new version) on my black car and found it very difficult to remove. Like trying to remove maple syrup at times. Turned out great in the end but it was a very slow process with a whole lot of microfibers used in the process.

No real issues. It's great stuff but I too have found it a bit difficult to remove. Like you, it's thicker and removal times vary greatly with humidity. My garage is heated and today it was about 70 degrees inside with medium humidity thanks to a rinseless wash I did. Working time was long and removal was difficult too. Does work great though. I use CarPro 16x16 Suede Rags for removal. When / if it leaves a slight smudge or smear I use a clean Short MF Towel.

Good to know it wasn't just me. It's totally different with how thick it goes on and the spray feature. I applied it in my garage the other day - low humidity but it was only about 58 degrees in there. I just couldn't seem to find a rhythm with it.

Thought the McKee's paint coating was supposed to be easy to use. Just bought a bottle to try out.

This is good to know before hand. Dang...

Wow! Very nice! Congrats on the new whip! Looks great!

Did you use your foam cannon? I see 'foam' all over the lawns...even across the street! LOL

How's the driving experience in that car? I'm considering the q50 q60 red sport as my next car.

So far very nice. If you're coming up from the IS250 you'll love it for sure.
