A friend of mine recently purchased a new to him 4runner with about 30k miles on it and asked if I would address the paint. It was actually in very condition but had excessive swirling and etching in it to include recently removed pin striping etching he couldnt get off. Didn't get a lot of pics, but was pretty happy with how it came out as was he! My process was as follows:

- wash (meguiars)
- clay bar
- rewash
- compound ( m105 w/orange pad)
*Rotary & DA
- polish ( m205 w/ white pad)
* DA
- hand wax (Meguiars ultimate)

In picture #4 the fender this is the results I have been getting on my Toyota’s
And I am not satisfied with the clarity
Rest of the truck looks awesome
I only bring this up in hope someone can explain

This was after compound and before polish to show the etching/hazing that was removed . However, I would agree with you. While the swirls were easily removed, I also found the paint to have more hazing than I expected.

Do you mean after you polished with 205 that the paint has more hazing than you expected also??
