2021 Tesla Model 3

Black/Black&White interior

New Client. Was upset with the way his Tesla paint looked. “It looks like it was painted with a brillo pad” is a direct quote. He took it in to be professionally washed in an attempt to rectify this situation…

A friend told him about getting the car corrected and coated. This is where I enter into this picture; LOL.
Car wash completely covered in swirls and some type of hazing. Also had factory defects that appeared to be sanding marks.
Paint was on the hard side and it took a bit to get my setup dialed in.

The ‘details’:
Gary Dean shampoo.
Adam’s tire and rubber cleaner.
Adam’s wheel cleaner.
McKee’s37 iron remover.
Medium clay mitt.

Adam’s rinse and coat for wheels/calipers.

Scangrip lighting.
Defelsko PTG.
Flex 3401, aka ‘the beast’.
Flex ‘pixie’.
Griot’s fast correcting cream.
Griot’s perfecting cream.

Optimum panel wipe for final wipe down.

Adam’s ceramic paint coating.
Carpro PERL tire dressing.
Adam’s glass cleaner.
McKee’s37 quick interior detailer.
Ultima Interior Guard Plus on interior pieces.
Metro vacuum.

Thanks for looking!

That's great turnaround!

So paint is on the hard side? Thought it'll be med to soft.

Thanks for sharing the knowledge.

Tom

Great job! Not saying much about that dealership. I'd say washed with Brillo Pad

Great results! That car was hammered.

How many miles were on that car when he finally found you? Unreal how bad it looked but as usual it was a great rescue job.

Another great save, Scottie!

I think the owners "brillo pad" analogy was spot on. Lol

Thanks all. Car has under 1000 miles on it.

Tom, yep, I was surprised, thought it be soft and finicky!

Thanks again!

Another reason why clients that love their cars bring them to you Scott.

I wanted to pass along the two latest video's from Jason at Chicago Auto Pros which match up to Scott's findings with poor Tesla finishing on the Model-3.

First one....Damage On My New Car | Tesla Inspection - YouTube

Latest on why not take your car to a car wash is the proof of the car after doing work like Scott and yes, black hides nothing

Stupid question but many owners are happy with convenience over other options

Based on the Teslas I've seen in person, if I bought one I think I'd plan on getting it wrapped ...

Great work, as usual. Those scratches came from the factory?

Thanks everyone!!!

Rippy: I'm not sure all of them did, he did tunnel wash it a few times as well as had a 'professional wash' done to it prior to coming to me.

But, others that I have done have had some serious defects direct from the factory/dealer.
