2022 Porsche GT3

I'm a big fan of the dark greens myself
Corvette had a nice green they called "Bowling Green "
Being a Corvette fan I'm surprised I'm not familiar with that color?

It is a shame that compounding had to be used to correct the defects. That is a lot of microns of clear coat removed.

I agree, but the dealerships don't care and don't want to be educated on it either. Even on a $100,000 plus car, they would want to charge the customer for the "detail"

Thank you everyone! Appreciate the comments!

I have on occasion checked the before/during and after thicknesses. Never after I've coated though. (this may morph into a new thread one day!)

The car was delivered 'in the wrapper' and my client was there for delivery. Vehicle has not been touched, and was not supposed to have been touched, by anyone but me. This will most likely remain one of life's mysteries!

And Guz, LOL and love #porschewhisperer!

Scott..... As always looks amazing. I find it difficult to have to choose between YouPorn, XHamster, Only Fans and your posts....all are equally satisfying

I just cant wrap my head around a "new" car being delivered like that-- totally dumbfounding

The person that prepped that beauty should be taken out back to the woodshed for a whooping. Great recovery.
Dealer prep is typically boarderlne acceptable ( I received my CaymanS in Nov and did find numerous swirls but nothing like that)

You think that prep is bad, take another look at your avatar...............

Absolutely beautiful!

Amazing save as usual Scott!
It really is disgusting how some very expensive vehicles are handed over to customers as being acceptable. I have a 2022 Bentley Continental GT Speed booked for a full correction & coating next month and my customer won’t drive it until I’m done with it. As Budget eluded to, these vehicles are selling well above MSRP and that just adds more disgust to it all.

^^^Nailed it. A shame, really...and unacceptable!

I believe that the owner told you that no one worked this car over except the dealer-- BUT i just cant really believe the a "premium " dealership ( Porsche) would allow a new vehicle to be worked on by folks with this skillset ( lack of any skill really ) and them give it to a customer in that horrendous shape --I can maybe believe if it was a used car he was buying , but not new-- totally unimaginable!!!!!!!!

Anyways-- the car look fantastic now, great job as usual Scott.

I see that you usually show us the paint thickness prior to the correction, do you ever check them out of curiosity to see what the difference after polishing? And after you put the coating on to see what that adds to it?

Watch a few of Jim White’s videos on new car prep jobs

At least in the UK this seems to be a common occurrence on luxury cars

That is some horrendous paint for a brand new car! Turned out real nice though, nice job :)
