25 hours correcting an Acura MDX (frightening photos inside)

It looks awesome. It's like night and day contrast...Great Job!

Amazing work Jeff! Those were definitely some of the worst water spots I've ever seen! Hopefully the owner learned there lesson about parking near sprinklers! ;)

My thoughts exactly!

That is an astonishing FIX you did Jeff. Great to see that you revived and saved that paint. Thank you for documenting and sharing.

Awesome job!!

I loved the attempted "fix" of the water spots on the front fender. :)

It's sad...But my absolute FAVORITE jobs always come from a previous hack detailers. There's nothing like having that reluctant customer who has been completely burned by another detailer...and they're afraid to even hand it over to another one.

There's nothing better than a 100% turn around in a situation like this. I get excited when the customer is on their way to pick it up. Mostly because I can imagine what's running through their head...the worry, the hope, paranoia, the wonder.

Then...BAM, they can't believe their eyes! Those reactions are always the best cause they now can truly appreciate a REAL detailer. I honestly feel that situations like this are the only way to really express the importance of a knowledgable detailer who is worth every penny.

I applaud your work...loved the photos! Really nice job! :props::props::props::props:

Great Save Jeff! The first few pics made go  would have loved to help on that one!

Great job!!!!!

Nice turn around on that MDX :xyxthumbs:

Thanks!

That MDX was in real bad shape. You did a great job, looks new again. Nice pics and documentation.

After the corrections with rotary, did you use a DA to finish it?

Thanks!
Yes, DA was used for final polishing

My mouth just kinda dropped when I saw some of the first few pictures. Nice work! I love this picture...just amazing

Thank you!!

Wow.... incredible save! That paint looked like someone hooked a brillo pad up to their rotary.

Yeah it was pretty bad. Thanks!

Scary before pics, amazing after pics. Just the way I like it (minus the scary before pics). :dblthumb2:

Thank you!

looks absolutely magnificent, flawless finish!! great job man

what towels/microfibers do you use in your process?

I like the Cobra microfibers.

Thanks!

perfect example of tools left in the hands of amateurs vs tools left in the hands of professionals

the proof is in the reflections

Thank you kindly :)

Looks incredible! Great job.

Thanks!

Great save, I don't think that I have ever seen paint with that many water spots. Great before and after pics. I can see how you spent 25 hours correcting the paint on this MDX. Great job.

Glenn

Thank you Glenn! This was the FIRST time someone with bad waterspots actually told me they were BAD. Usually I get the people saying its got a "little bit" of water spots, and they "aren't bad". LOL...right.

Holy s*** that was bad.Looks like it sat under a sprinkler with well water hitting in the sun just baking the heck out of it.Great 100% turnaround!!

Thank you!

Amazing job. The before and after pics show a complete and professional restoration of the paint.

I appreciate that, thank you :)

goodness that is beautiful!!! Excellent work!

Thank you alko

Lets hope it's not re-introduced to the source of water spotting again...

One good thing about hack detailers is they create work for Pro Detailers.

Nice save!

:xyxthumbs:

Thanks Mike! The current owners had just bought it and the spots were from the previous owner's sprinklers.

the owner should sell it now and buy a silver car

super job!

LOL, thats exactly what they did! Well...they sold it. Not sure what they bought after. I was detailing this for the new owner. :) thanks!

nice save, looks great

Thank you

Thanks!
:wow: I honestly didn't know the paint was blue. Those are the jobs that just make you smile :D. Great save.

Neither did the owner. They thought it was black. Thanks!

Blue with Flakes??
Awesome turnaround...

Thank you!

Thanks :)

Thank you Chad! I'm sure this MDX is happy to be sold and away from the house with the "Sprinklers of Death"! The new (current) owners are garaging this baby. :)

DLB, thank you! When I started it, I was worried I bit off more than I could chew, but at the end I was Im the MAN

Awesome job!!

I loved the attempted "fix" of the water spots on the front fender. :)

Thanks! I'm kinda glad they tried, it made it that much cooler of a transformation!

nice work!

what was the previous detailer doing/thinking?!

Thanks! Hmm, hard to say...maybe they saw a generic youtube vid.

It looked like they tried to fix it with 200 grit sandpaper

Yeah that was pretty awful. It was a fun turnaround though!

Very nice work!!!

Thank you!

Wow, thank you! They were hesitant just like that,...at first. After I showed them a 50/50 shot I did on another black car (in direct sunlight), they were a little more comfortable. They were really happy when they got it back :)

Great Save Jeff! The first few pics made go  would have loved to help on that one!

Great job!!!!!

Thanks! :dblthumb2: Come out and help anytime! I'll just move my Lazy-boy recliner into the garage and quarterback the operation from there ;) :buffing:
