Hi all,
Painted these interior parts about 6 months ago with a 2k clear. Then wet sanded with 3000 grit sandpaper. After a few months the clear isn't as smooth, photo attached. Is this a curing problem? Should I go wetsand it again with 3000 or 5000 grit sandpaper?

Any thoughts?

Thanks for reading.

What you are experiencing is likely paint shrinkage, die-back or holdout. These terms are synonymous in this context and describe the same phenomenon... How the paint changes during the curing process. These changes are completely natural yet they can be affected by variables in the painting process.

Here's a couple threads with a more detailed explanation.

And to answer your questions directly...
No - this is not likely a curing problem, rather a perfectly normal phenomenon
Yes - wetsand and re-polish

Great!

Thanks for that.
