3 polishes that can tackle anything!!!

Mark, you recently reviewed the Optimum compound and polishes. How do they rate with these 3 and have you thrown them out as well?

I would like to see what Mark thinks about these as well. IMO OPT might not be as agrresive as other polishes or compounds to some, but what I like is the little to no dusting and long work times. I might have to try more of the Mezerna line as well to see how they compare.

I hope you don't take these posts too seriously. Mark seems to have a new favourite on nearly a weekly basis.

About a month ago it was Sonax Nano Paint Cleaner, (according to Mark, way better than 85RD even though it is not a polish) then it was back to the Menz polishes as per this thread and now Menz has been replaced in his latest thread with the new Optimum line.

Your guess what it will be next week!!!!

The only guy getting any benefit from these type of threads is his neighbour, because if all this stuff gets chucked over the back fence that guy, by now, has some really great products.

This forum is awash in "the must have products of the week" and frankly the AG gods must be ordering their new cars. Can you image the insanity once the new sema products àre revealed? It will probably rival the new herman Cain commercials for entertainment value.

If I ONLY had these 3 polishes, I would be 100% good to go! They all work great with rotaries and DA's.

Compound = M105(great cut, great finish)

Polish = Menz Power Finish(medium polish, also a great 1-step)

Finish = Menz 85rd(to get that last bit of gloss, also great on soft paint).

I threw all my other polishes away!!!!!!

Each product is formulated to correct a specific level of defect and in this order should be able to handle just about anything that come along. We all have our favorites but these will get the job done...

SIP doesn't cut anywhere near as much as M105 no matter what pad you use it on. It's a medium polish, not a compound.

Menzerna Super Finish PO106FA is a medium polish. It offers a decent cut when used with a White or Gray pad. To really make this product perform finish up using a Blue or Red pad. rops:

This post has encouraged me to try some 85rd to try and finish down the micro marring left on my wife's Black Nissan Xterra. What pad make/color is everyone having success with? Thanks

I don't know that 85rd is going to help with micro marring, it's more for jeweling with a rotary

I haven't tried any 85rd or 106FA. All I have at the moment are Ultimate Compound, SwirlX, and just recently got some Megs #83/#80. All the pads I have are Flat LC 5.5" Orange and White.

Could the #80 help with micro marring on a finishing pad?

Not trying to de-rail the thread. I can start my own if needed.

#80 is diminishing I think. Should finish better on softer paints but I've never used it. I think the current equivalent is M205.

I'd try it on a finishing pad but move to a polishing pad if it isn't breaking down in a reasonable amount of time.

We've sort of hijacked this thread to 85rd, but I thought I'd add my thoughts. I do have it and have used it with my Griot's DA but there are a lot of people in this forum that will tell you that 85rd works far better with rotaries than orbital buffers. Also, I am an AIO fan and have been told that it doesn't make sense to use 85 and then follow that with Duragloss, which has great longevity. So I am stuck with this humongous bottle of 85rd and probably won't be able to use it for years since I have two bottles of Duragloss.
