3M Paint Defender (Spray-on Clear Bra) Review

Final update.

After 2 hours today of scraping tiny pieces like this off

Plastic Razor worked slightly, but I ended up going with APC and water to break it down. I had heard pressure washer would cause it to fall right off at a high enough pressure but I don't have one. So I chose this route after dry wasn't giving me quick enough results (it would have taken me all night). And I was able to return it to this

It left quite a few scratches that I'll be compounding out tomorrow.

But other than that Happy 4th everyone! Thanks to everyone that has served or chooses to serve.

Feel free to ask any questions on this product.

Thanks for the continuous updates on the 3M shield.

The downside about using the plastic razor on paint is that it can leave scratches after. But knowing how to compound them out will allow you to ease your mind about using them on the paint.

No problem, it's too bad it didn't work out as well as I had hoped. And I can't fully review the protection since I had to fight it off. But I'd take scratches I can fix rather than this dull look on it.

Thanks again.

thanks for taking the time, all I have to say is wow!

Thanks for the review, will definitely pass on this one.

I applied the 3M Paint Defender on my wife's 2013 Altima front bumper a few weeks ago and followed the instructions to the tee. After a few car washes (non automatic), the film is peeling loose in spots. Also, removing bug debris is harder to remove than it was without the film. I have also noticed small yellow spots on the film itself and these spots are not bug debris. I'm disappointed with the perfomance of this product.

How were you washing the car? The film cannot handle pressurized water well at all.

Thanks for the review. I was looking at this thinking it might have been a good way to protect the front end on my car. I guess I will just have to keep looking. Thank you for taking the time and sharing your experience.

No problem. Honestly I'd go with an Xpel bra, they're pricey but absolutely fantastic. After driving cross country numerous times mine has many battle scars, but better the bra than the paint.

Does anyone know what it looks like over clear coat failure?
