I just received some today from AG. They're advertised to work with the 3.5" backing plate on a DA. However, the velcro backing on the pad measures 3 1/8" while the backing plate measures just under 3.5". The backing plate is too big. Will this present a problem?

I've used these with the 3.5" LC backing plate without problems. The majority of the velcro is hooked up to the backing plate anyway so the pad won't go anywhere.

I love these pads for spot buffing! They work amazing!

Be careful pulling the pad off of the backing plate. There is a possibility of the foam separating from the velcro.

I figured they would work fine, just wanted to hear from someone who used them with a 3.5" BP, before I use them. :xyxthumbs:

Thanks for the heads up. :props:

Never had this problem but thanks for the heads up!

I want to try Meguiar's 4" polishing pad to apply waxes!

I've never had any interest in the CCS 4" pads that AG sells. First, they're way too thick for my taste. Second, I don't like CCS pads, I like flat pads. I had to shop elsewhere for 4" polishing and finishing pads.

+1 , I've been using the same ones that came free with my Cyclo polisher a few years back. They still cut good too. It is however time to pitch them as they are finally getting a bit too tattered. I've used them on my Cyclo, G110V2 and rotary with 3.5" LC backing plates. The foam on the very outer edge gets a little worn by the edge of the backing plate but they just keep on working. I think these are LC's longest lasting pads for sure.

Try the Hydro 4" pads.

I take it you haven't tried out the Hydro-Tech 4" FLAT pads from Lake Country?

They are available in Cyan (Cutting), Tangerine (Polishing) and Crimson (Finishing).

Here's is one reason why I love them!

This improvement was achieved by using M105 with the 4" LC orange pads. Amazing huh?

I've had plenty of experience with HT's, but they fall apart(not just the velcro backing) too easy.

I have used these pads as you intend to and had issues with them getting cut by the edge of the 3.5" backing plate. You will see it after doing a few panels. Not that they don't do a good job, just be aware.

That sucks!

If I have that problem, I may have to try uber orange 4" pads.

I don't have see this problem with the 4" LC CC pads though. I use those most of the time and stopped purchasing the flat.

I like these pads alot for doing smaller areas. They are relatively cheap and work very well. If you use alot of pressure the back of the pad will get cut, but it doesn't affect performance, they just look funny, and you have to be careful when you pull them off the BP so they don't rip completely. IIRC I bought these a year or so ago when they were on bogo and they were a steal!

If they went on BOGO again I wouldn't hesitate to pick u several packs of them.

AS long as the performance isn't affected.........:righton:

You sure you got the right pads? I have some of the LC 4" flat, orange pads from AG and use 'em on a 3.75" BP. Pad overhangs the BP like it's s'posed to. Did AG get some 3" LC pads by mistake. If so, I WANT SOME!!!

lol....the actual pad is bigger than the backing plate, it's the velcro I'm talking about. :xyxthumbs:
