4" pad question...

I heard the orange uber pad falls apart and isn't the best quality?

These seem like a great buy when you want a 4" pad 2 for $8.99 instead of LC for $11.99

If you wants pads similar to the ones you show (made by same foam supplier), look at the Cyclo 4-in pads available at AG. They sell a white ultra soft one that I like a lot to apply waxes with a polishing pal.

Cyclo 4 Inch Premium Foam Pads fit on each head of your Cyclo Dual Head Orbital Polisher

Ohhh!! This is what Ron thought I was talking about.

I am yet to experience this.

But like I said, there green and blue pads are serious workhorse's and you will be very surprised at the level of cut and finish they actually do (and I work extensively on Audi/VW paint systems = HARD)

Ive used the yellow and orange, but to be fair, I am the type of person who does not re-use pads very often or work the crap out of them past there optimal working time.

I use the 6.5" on my flex without issue as well. The 6.5" pads are a bit thicker.

Buy my favorite is the LC Hydrotech series for my german cars. but all my 4" pads are Uber pads. The LC 4" pads flop and fold over themselves very easily, and after using the UBER pads, its tough to try and take the thick LC 4" pads serious. lol.

about your post I qouted, my best advice would be to buy 1 or 2 pads and try it out yourself. :) 1 or 2 pads is not a very big financial risk. And having more options is always a nice thing.

(quick note : You may find that this product, like many others is not the holy grail, but is a system that works very well and in some areas may be an improvement to the problem you posted in the OP)

I will be having some of these UBER pads.
I've been looking for some 4" low profiles.I like how it tells you on the back which process the colors are for. With all the buffing/polishing pad colors out there (from different manufactures),this is good quick easy reference! :xyxthumbs:

Just saw this over there(DD):
"The Uber Foam Pads now have the step (medium polish/polish/final polish/wax/sealant) stamped on the back of it. "

Hello 4" UBERSIm the MAN (especially with the 20% off)

good stuff man, let us know how they work for you ! I use these 4" pads extensively. Why cant LC make something similar? I find no reasonable explanation of having such innefective thick 4" pads that flop all over the place once they build up some heat and soak in some product.

The 4-inch cyclo pads work fine for me. I use them by hand or machine.
I haven't tried the Uber pads yet. I've been buying Cyclo pads and really like how the hook and loop backing is glued with an additional bead of glue around the outer edge of it. These pads cut well and last a long time.

What about the Lake country pads with constant pressure backing ?
Looks like they come in all the colors form Yellow cut to the Gold Jeweling.

These pads incorporate the soft blue Constant Pressure™ backing for better coverage and a softer feel.

I see them on properboatcare site.

those are the ones i was talking about previously (aside from mentioning the cyclo pads)

i just got some white ones of these in from properautocare - they are about as thick as a cyclo pad when being used - the blue foam compresses very easily. but standing alone, including the blue foam, they are slightly thinner than a spot buff. like i said though, it doesn't really matter because they are effectively thinner under use.

actually i'm confident they are the same manufacturer.

I hear a LOT of good things about those blue backed foams. I had heard that those are the most premium version foam LC offers in there catalog.

see how easily the blue foam compresses, making it effectively a normal profile CCS pad? the white doesn't even compress under such light pressure.
