40 Professional detailers join forces to preserve American history!

As Joe said it was a great honor to be selected to work with this team preserving a few pieces of history. This was my third time working on this project the team gets better every time and Joe did an outstanding job as 2nd in command.
With this large of a team we got caught up schedule so a few of us got to work on a Italian jet fighter which certainly needed a little love, nice little bonus

This was Perry's second time on this project his true talent and skill polishing aluminum was a great asset to the project

Detail of the century!


Nice work Joe, Renny and Team. This kind of project was not only a chance of a lifetime but pinnacle project in everyone's resume of lifetime detailing accomplishments.

I know from speaking with Renny before the project that there's a lot of work and planning that goes on behind the scenes to pull of a project like this and I know Joe, Renny and Renny's wife Diane deserve a lot of the credit coordinating this monumental event.


Joe and Renny are top notch detailers in the industry and they were also our VIP Pro Detailer Guests at this year's DetailFest where true to form they were spectacular Instructors at all our Saturday and Sunday classes.

Awesome work!

It was a long time ago so I don't exactly remember the full story of why it was there, but at my first base assignment we had one of those old presidential C-135's pass through once. The crew chiefs were out hand polishing the metal it in their blues when I saw it. After seeing how much bare metal was on that thing I quickly said "Screw a bunch of that." Especially having to do it in your blues in the sun.

Great work again by everyone that helped out with those planes!!! :)
 
Wow...that's the coolest fricken thing I've EVER seen. Seriously. Beyond impressive fellas. I'd love to be a part of something like this! If you guys need another polisher...count me in! :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

Freaking sweet!

I have one question though. In order to polish out these planes, you have to wash them first right, just like a car?

Curious how you went about doing that on such a large surface area. I dont believe you mentioned it in your post.
 
AFO had been pressure washed just before we started. The b-29 was wiped down to remove dirt before being polished.

I have to say that I was brought to tears watching that video. What an honor it must be Joe, being a U.S. Marine, for you to be able to preserve part of our American histroy in honor of those who served druing WW II.

Seeing you place that flag up there...whew...gives me goose bumps just thinking about it. Then the photo of those ol' heros standing in front of her was icing on the cake.

A lot of WW2 vets 'up yonder' are standing VERY PROUD (still).
