Have fun with the project. I have a 63 Rambler with oxidized original paint. I attempted a spot with the above described methods( I am not a beginner). The results were mixed. I did decide to leave it after I did a basic cleanup of the paint ( no rubbing) because the PATINA was way more desirable than the area I rubbed. Original patina can be more desirable, but it's your choice of course.
