Hey guys didn't do a search because I kind of doubt either of the two of these are very common....

A friend of mines dad owns a 1965 Aston Martin that he wants me to detail and because of the car value (around $500,000) I wanted to make sure that there isn't anything super special I need to be concerned about? I know the body is completely aluminum, but wanted to see is this single stage or two stage paint? and I just want to make sure I won't screw anything up haha typically the most expensive cars I work on are around 100k so this is quite a bit more worry inducing. Also on the 85 Morgan there is a spot of sticky residue on the fender the owner hasn't been able to get off can I just use the typical mineral spirits to take care of it?

Thanks in advance!

I can only hope to work on one of these in the near future. Good luck Bro..

Well, that '65 Aston certainly has single-stage unless it's been repainted. BC/CC didn't come about on an OEM basis until the mid-'80's.

I kind of thought this but wasn't sure with it being such a high end car... and bigdriver I only lucked into this because it's a guy in the Subaru group I hang out withs dad's car.

You should look through Mike Phillips' stuff or hopefully he will chime in because that's one car you don't want to mess up.

I have a client that has one of every series Aston. All are single stage.as they were done by someone else,I needed to do a fair amount of correction. I used the micro fiber system from Meguiar's and followed with ultimate paste by da.just be carefully on the edges, the British make beautifully cars but they cannot paint!
The Morgan is just a pain because of the shape. I have seen both single stage and bc cc in that era
Iq do a lot of work for a British only shop,so I see several a year
Just start as they say with the least aggressive polish and see what works

Thanks a lot Mike! I appreciate the knowledge and planned on being very careful using the least aggressive product.
