This car was painted about 15 years ago and it was definitely in need of a good polish after years of washing and dusting off. The owner is actually and old friend from high school who lived up the street from me when he was restoring it...I can still remember when he brought it back from the paint shop....always loved this year Vette and Candy Red is my all time favorite color...I was very excited to work on this car! :)

Process:

Wash - Megs Hyper Wash, 2BM, Lambs wool mit
Tires - OPC and Tuf-Shine brush (owner wanted no dressing)
Wheels - OPC and separate wash mit
Surface prep - Speedy prep towel, Glide for lube
Paint correction - FG400 on the Rupes 21 with Megs MF Finishing pads followed by HD Polish on the Rupes. Some areas required an extra pass with FG400.
Pant Protection - Blackfire Wet Diamond
Chrome - Mothers Chrome Polish
Glass - Megs D120

Pics:

The metallic in the color made it hard to get good pictures...

Amazing how this color changes with the light!!!

Thanks for taking the time to view my work,

Rasky :)

That's too sweet man!!! Love the car, love the color and always love seeing your work!!

What an awesome looking car! Pretty cool that you have a history with the owner and the vehicle, I'm sure that makes the job even more rewarding.

As always, fantastic work!

Wow! Awesome car, amazing color and you made it look phenomenal.

Hi Rasky...

To add to the accolades you've already received:

(Sorry...I felt compelled)

Also...
Because it's also her favorite color...
Candy Red is my all time favorite color...
I also felt compelled and forwarded this: Work of art of yours...to: "The Good Wife"

-She called me and said she loved the way it looks!!
-She also told me to tell you that you do very good work...
And then proceeded to ask me when was I going to get busy on her vehicles. WHAT?!?!

:)

Definitely. Actually, this car belonged to a different guy I went to school with (his father) and the current owner ended up buying it from his old man some time after we graduated. ;)

Hahahaha! That made me laugh, Bob! Thanks! :D

That's a car I'm glad I glad I got to see pics of! Great work and great looking car. Love everything about it

Whats left to say 10+.

Love that color. Your pic "before LSP" was outrageous proves gloss comes from polishing.

Thanks for posting your work.

That makes me want a candy apple Vette!
Wowsers - nice work there!

Wow that color is just drop dead gorgeous!!! I can see how it's extremely difficult to capture the swirls on that color but you did it without a problem.

Amazing work as always, Chad!!! I always admire your work and try to work in achieving the same level of detail.
