Did this back in June...

Did Outside, interior and under the hood. There were tons of compound polish all over the place---(Other people's wax).

1. Waterless wash--McKee's N914
2. Did not clay. It was recently buffed out with a rotary. (Car was still nasty in terms of scratches and swirls!)
3. Used the Griots system
4. First step---Griots microfiber and correcting cream
5. Second step---Griots perfecting cream with white finishing pad. (This was very, very sweet step!)
6. Third step---Griots show shine spray wax.

I am loving the Griots system. It has a high quality finish and really finishes down very, very nice.

I am planning to do a full switch over to the Griots system from the Rupes system.

Onto pictures...

Tom

Done. I really liked how this turned out. It was one of my better details!

Tom

Great work! You really turned up the gloss on that paint. Question though, you said you used griots white pad for finishing with perfecting cream. I also use the griots system but didn't know they had a white pad for finishing. How do you like it? I've only used the yellow boss pad for finishing but am always looking to upgrade.

Sorry for the confusion!!

I still have the Rupes pads. I used the Rupes white pads since I haven't made the switch yet...

The Rupes white pads are the softest and used for finishing polish or waxing.

However---I do have the Griots microfiber pads. Used that with the correcting cream. And then finished down with perfecting cream/Rupes white pads.

Good catch there, PearTree!

What a killer paint job. Awesome job on that, Tom.

Glad you are liking the Griot's line. Other than a few favorites from other lines, I have pretty much switched to all Griot's Garage stuff.

Just about all of it works incredible, and their Customer Service is top notch.

Outstanding Tom!!! Torino's are near and dear to my heart. My brother had a 71 Torino 500 in a highland green color and my dad had a 73 Torino (the only family car that I rode around in as my dad kept it for nearly 20 years). Just fantastic cars, and the values have gone through the roof for these classic hot rods.

Great work Tom!

Thanks gents...

Nope not 429, a humm...gonna say 351 Cleveland.

Will be coming back for a new engine. This one has metal in oil and shredded up the engine a bit. Got it running well but will need another engine sometime by next year.

Tom

That metal is almost certainly main bearing material.

Might be sooner than next year for the re-power.

Nice work Tom and very cool car.

It's been a real pleasure watching you detail all these cool cars after attending our class here in Stuart. You continually impress.

Beautiful work Tom
