This weekend's job was a 1998 Pathfinder that was pretty rough. There were many scuffs that went through the base coat (especially on the plastic lowers) and numerous scratches. The interior was pretty stained as well. I wanted to do a good job (well..I always do) b/c the owner is whom I buy my cigars from and is always good to me. Here's the process:

Wash:
wash and treat the wheels with OTC wheel cleaner and a toothbrush.
Clay surface

Exterior:
Didn't feel like dragging out my 2nd rotary with my wool pad so I tried an orange pad using SIP..worked well although a 2nd pass was needed for some of the scratches..no biggie..no dusting at all.
106ff with white pad
FMJ cured for at least an hour
Collinite
Tires with Megs endurance
OTC tire spray on wells
chrome bumpers got Blue Magic

Interior:
Glass got IG with 2 MF method
Folex on stains
10:1 Woolite on interior
303 to protect

Once you got her detailed she looks darn good for a "98". Good job. New matts and almost new.

Thanks Jimmie..I only wish it had been a darker colour to really show the improvement..I hate beige paint:p

Nice turn around there richy, the rims looked really good. I'm starting to pay more attention to the little things such as rims it's amazing the difference they make on a vehicle. A job well done bro.

Thanks for sharing...oh I still like the hood shot, it's hard to get reflection from colors like that but you got reflection on it..that to me show's the work you did.

Well done.

Thanks buddy!!:D

cool job, richy!!! i wanted to see the afters by the door handles too.
seems like a 98 not maintained can be a real mess....
you did wonders with it!!

Great job! That SUV now looks in pretty good shape for 98. By the way, how many miles was on that truck? And which Collinite wax did you use (you didn't mention)?

Wow. That's how most vehicles look these days :D (in the befores). Man, now it's looking great!

Our 99' 4 Runner is still looking pretty darn new, my mom got a compliment about it looking new (never been polished or anything, just waxed).

Nice job there sure looks 100% better.
Well done.
Dave

Wow you really turn that thing around. She looks new again. Awesome job...:applause:

lauren..thanks a lot!! the door handles' scratches were removed as well. the only things i couldn't do were the scuffs..no touch up paint..i usually request my customers to supply it so i can do some minor corrections, wetsand and polish.

supercharged..oops..i only have collinite 476 on hand for now although after reading some posts by al53, i am going to try the marine versions of stuff. the km's were 123,000 which is very good for 10 years old.

klumzypinoy..thanks..doesn't take a lot of low effort maintenance to keep them looking relatively good.

dave..thanks for the compliment!

sparkie..thanks too..when my fmj runs out, i'll be using dg 105 instead thanks to you and al53:D

Thanks. I just love 476S!

Great work! Awesome turnaround! What did you use on the exterior trim/running boards? They look great!

Nice work ;) What a turnaround, it looks sharp! :D

P1et..thanks for the compliment..especially from some of you guys that I admire your work as well!!

Alban61..thanks as well...I use 303 Aerospace on everything black as well as the interior and plastic. I wipe it down (interior inly) with a terry cloth after so it's not too glossy, but I like the UV protection it adds. I am looking into a CG product as an alternative which is somewhat cheaper although I just bought 4 16 oz bottles for 1/2 price so i'm good for a while now. My 303 retailer will also refill the 32 oz bottle for $20 too which is a good deal and saves shipping, etc.

pirex..thanks..have enjoyed seeing your work as well!!
