Sonax Dashboard Cleaner/Protectant - FINALLY, I found a interior protectant that leaves the finish I desire. I've tried a good amonut: DP, Mothers, Optimum, FK 108, UIGP, etc. They all have not been matte enough for my taste, but Sonax is perfect! It gives a nice, clean look with the very slioghtest bit of sheen. Its cleaner power is very light like most combo interior cleaner/protectants. Overall, a winner!!!

Optimum Leather Protectant - Leaves a nice, clean look with some sheen. Nothing ridiculous though. Darkens the leather a bit which I like, but not as much as other leather products. Doesn't contain wax or silicone so it won't attract dirt, while giving good protection. Overall, a winner!

Griot's Pre-Wax Cleaner - Specifically for removing polishing oils to leave paint bare before applying an LSP. Does just that, IME. Doesn't feel grabby when wiping off. Excellent alternative to IPA, IMO. Overall, a winner!!!

been using griots pre wax cleaner for years. simply the best kills the more expensive top inspection stuff. griots spray heads are pretty good too.

Thanks Mark. Never considered the Griots...I don't like using IPAs. OPT leather is on my to try list also. Glad you like these products.:props:

Jim,

I don't like using IPA either, hence, why I use Griot's. It's great!

I've tried TI and I agree.

I have been using Menzerna Top Inspection and I like it. The Griots is priced way better. Thanks buddy!

Glad you liked the Sonax Dashboard Cleaner/Protectant as much as I did.

Thanks for putting this info up Mark.

I've been searching for that elusive interior protectant that leaves a nice clean finish with no extra shine so I'll have to try the Sonax product. IMHO the Sonax Wheel Cleaner Full Effect is one of the best wheel cleaners and I highly recommend it.

For leather, I still prefer Zaino products (Z-9 Cleaner, Z-10 Leather in a Bottle) over most anything else. (MODERATOR - IF I AM NOT ALLOWED TO PUT PRODUCT NAMES HERE THAT AG DOES NOT CARRY THEN I APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE AND FEEL FREE TO KILL THE NAME OF THE PRODUCT)

Griot's entire line are excellent products. I have a friend that uses Griots exclusively on his Black '95 BMW 540 and it always looks amazing. I'll see if I can get a picture of it from him.

Mark, have you ever tried Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer? It cleans a little and leaves a really nice, matte finish.

Glad to hear about the optimum product though. I have been looking for a true leather protectant.

Shawn, I have tried QID. IMO, it just cleans, doesn't change the look of the interior at all(just like 1Z cockpit). Sonax changes the look ever so slightly, it's nice!

Mark Great Thread! The only shiney thing in any detail I like to see is PAINT! Once again you are going to make me try something else...all in good fun I think AG is paying you some good money to keep recomending products.....cause it seems when Mark speaks People listen!

Glad you found somthing you like and It just hit my cart for the next order!

Now if you don't stop Mrs07 is going to kick my Butt! And believe me She can do it!

You crack me up Tim! :props:

I think you'll like sonax. I spray it on a MF applicator and rub it in. If the interior is real dirty, I'll clean it with OPC before. It says to buff after, but you don't really need to. It's a great product!

can anybody answer this, what is the difference between the griots pre-wax cleaner and the griots paint prep? They look the same and have basically the same description, but it's 2 separate products and one is more expensive than the other

The way you use the products.

Just re-read the product descriptions...the pre-wax cleanser is used to remove polish residue and the paint prep is used to remove old wax

Give Mothers VLR a try. It leaves a matte finish that dries to the touch and it smells fantastic too. :xyxthumbs:

Looking for anyone who has used Diamond Luster Polish/Wax. Would like to know what your thoughts are on this product! I had what I thought was a perspective client ask me to stop by their car lot. Little did I know that their intention was to sell me some product, not request my detailing services. Sheeeese!
