I have a scratch I need to take out tomorrow on a customer's car. I've not seen it yet, but have been told it was caused by their dog. I will have to try the 6" orange pad with either XMT3 or 4.

Thanks for the email. The AG site is wrong. The orange is the most aggressive pad we make. Soon we will have it on our website but until now it has not been part of our standard line. Orange is a super stiff european foam that cuts more with pressure than pore size. Green is a light cut foam pad." I don't know why all the vendors have it wrong and why they aren't all on the same page.
So please answer me why I've seen people here like Justin say that the "AG orange" is different than any other one? Bob at Danase, all of Autopia, and even Aaron @ Edge disagree with that.
I did a black 325 Ci today, and I'm not sure about aggressiveness of those pads (orange, and green), but green was able to temove detects that orange was not able to (paint was very hard). I used Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover is full sun. Pics and full details will be posted tomorow. The Edge said:Ok, so here are my thoughts.
First, the Orange has not been on website because it was made by request for AG but we are not limited to AG for sales of this Orange as it is a common product in the market.
Second, we have not listed it on our site because it does not really fit in when comparing apples to apples as it is a European style "stiff" foam and does not work on the same principle as the USA foams. The USA foams cut based on pore size or porosity, the European foams cut on stiffness and density not just pore size. Therefore we have not listed it on our site but made this pad for customers that special request it and let them describe it how they wish. Now that there is so much confusion we will be making a chart on our site. This chart will be seperated into USA or Standard Edge foams, European or Non Standard Edge foams, and then just other USA non standard foams which include the new AG red foam.
In my opinion, the Orange pad is very agressive, and cuts faster than any of our foams which puts it in my book as the most agressive pad. It works by pressing the chemicals harder against the paint and doing more work faster that way. Because the pore size is tight it does not produce what looks like a really cut or micromarred surface like the yellow or green durafoams do, but either way you will be polishing out the surface with a secondary process and a soft polishing pad.
This brings me to the third point which is, the white pad that someone described here as stiff is a very old Durafoam version of the white which we discontinued a few years ago after people expressed dislike with the finishing pads being stiff. All our finishing pads are soft USA squishy style foams as they really polish best.
Thanks for listening and your support of Edge pads and products.

Orange
Green
Yellow
White
or
Orange
Yellow
Green
White
Nimble said:I'm quoting myself, becuse I got the answer from Aaron via email. My SECOND list above is the correct order of aggressiveness for the 4" Cyclo Edge 2K Pads.
Orange (stiff euro foam, same as in 6" pads)
Yellow (stiff euro foam)
Green (regular us foam, same as in 6" pads)
White (regular us foam, same as in 6" pads)
This doesn't mean that the pad itself is more aggressive. It's the combo that is. The pad is not doing the cutting.....the chemical that is being held closer and longer to the surface is. I can take the green pad, which you are saying has less cut, and use a non-aggressive chemical and get the pad to cut. Like with PwS that has no abrasives. It will not do anything with the orange pad since the pad will not cut.Nimble said:You got it! The eurofoam is denser than the us foams, thus pressing the polishes into the surface faster, making it more aggressive.

Sorta like getting your teeth cleaned at the dentist vs. brushing at home.
