That's my cord control clip. I designed it. After finally getting the patent application filed and moving to patent pending status it is now safe for me to use it on film. It will be available on my website soon.

Nice job Garry. Can you tell me, why did you use M205 and then wipe it off with the IPA? I know you explained in the video that you wanted to remove the oils so then why even use 205? Thanks for sharing. You are obviously a master of headlight restoration... and I'm sure more than that.

Thanks! I used m205 to polish any hazing left by the m105. The lighter abrasives in m205 do a fantastic job at polishing the lenses, but the extras in the polish are only good for filling and will prevent the opti-guard from bonding properly.

Can you recommend a sealant for the headlights that would be more economical, say for ppl that don't quite have like $60 for a coating? Or is it a question of...you get what you pay for, and something cheaper would not last a long time like the Opti-guard product?

You truly do get what you pay for in the detailing industry whether it be product or service.

The optimum product offers permanent protection, but if you can handle applying a coat of wipe on walk away every 4 months or so I would highly recommend Ultima Paint Guard Plus. If you are a consumer the 4 oz bottle shouldast you a couple of years and is around a third the price of opti-coat.

BTW, I use opti-guard (the pro version) that cures faster and harder than the opti-coat 2.0.
 
Yes, the 4oz of UPGP is $19.99 at AG. Its a great way to seal up all exterior paint, glass, and plastic lenses.

You could try the spar urethane/mineral spirits mix. The thread about all that is in the show and shine section. A little expensive to get everything initially. About 15 for a quart of spar and I think 10 for a quart of mineral spirits. But it should allow you to do a crap load of coatings before running out.

Oh yea. While thread bumpin can be highly addicting, it is legal in all 50 states and you won't wake up tommorow dehydrated, with a stuffed up beak :bump:
