I never tried water blasting debris off of MF. But, I have regularly water logged one to more easily pick debris out. I'll have to try the blast method.
I have had good luck presoaking nasty MF in detergent with d-limonene added. I have a plunger washer that works in a 5 gallon bucket that helps.
If your MF gets funky smelling, Rocco and Roxie stain and odor eliminator works well if you can stomach the price (about $50/ gal). Just don't make the mistake of leaving it where your wife might use it. Mine went through about half a gallon in a couple weeks before I noticed. Must of glug-glugged every load of wash she did. Ouch.
