ADS Quartz applied to the EN!

Nah when I had cquk3 on my car I left a bare panel to put toppers on bare paint and coating.

The coated parts always had CqUK3 beading and bare paint would be performance of topper/sealant.

The bare paint water behavior varied by what ever topper I use but coated car always cquk3 performance.

This was my experience too. I only occasionally use toppers and they never get applied in the cold months after I quit hand washing. When I take them through the touchless, they always come out looking really clean, much moreso than when I used a sealant. Every time, I'm pretty confident the topper is long gone and it's the coating doing all the work.

I've recently taken my care with Pure EVO though a touchless and the wife's with Mohs EVO and both shed all the grime and salt easily in the touchless. I haven't touched either since some time in October, so I know there is nothing but the coating on the paint at this point.

PRESIDENT will get you 20% off at ADS this weekend in case anyone is in Spring stock up mode yet.

I took advantage of that yesterday and bought a bottle of the ceramic coating for my car and since I ran out of Amplify last fall, I picked up a bottle of that as well.

Green sponge porn. I'm still sticking to my St Patty's release estimate (sheer lucky guess I made last November)

Yeah, well, 6 days to go--I wonder if ADS will have a sale also, didn't someone say they usually have a St. Paddy's sale?
They did last year for the weekend. One of the few sales they hold and I recalled it because it was kind of random compared to the other distributors... pretty sure I bought a coating last St Patty's so that means it's time to use it soon.

CDD15 is a permanent code for 15% off if needed

I put the Phobic I bought on Black Friday in the freezer.

Thanks for reminding me about that!

To be honest that sponge looks like every other sponge on the market. Is there something this sponge has that others dont? Other than the color.

Probably not but it's a beautiful shade of green, I love green:

Best for last

Well just my opinion, i agree, but it has to be the right shade of green. There are some god awful shades of green.
Green, depending on the year has been the most popular color on a particular car to the least popular color.
Can't say much for the seats in the picture of the first Pic. Definately a fail.

I'm not sure why sponges and MF's seem to be immune from the hate and conspiracy theories reserved for the "don't make their own products!" chemical "mfrs". No one who sells microfiber towels here in the US makes their own towels.

Since Klasse and I were discussing the Legacy sponge above, I found a YouTube review explaining the difference between the V.1 and V.2 Legacy sponge, part (all?) of which was they changed from having Lake Country make it for them to Buff & Shine...but neither of those companies make the foam, foam companies make foam, LC and B&S are fabricators for whom foam is a raw material supplied by someone else, just like Ford and GM buy steel and make it into something (ironically, Hyundai has their own steel company).

I think that's just a retro nod to the 70's.

Didn't someone around here say it's actually just the TRC USS with a green color? So I don't have high expectations (or I should say unrealistic expectations) but more of it being a formality given Hero already exists.

I saw that comment as well and I'm not familiar with that sponge. And to be honest I have nothing against my legacy sponge

I own 2 TRC USS. They still sit in the original plastic packaging. Got a great deal on two of them with KC Rrw... but like everyone else, it's easier to find a RW sponge in my home than a pen with ink.

I should go use it soon

It does look like the same sponge in a different color, the packaging looks the same, etc. However, the TRC sponge does say prominently that it's made in China, while the ADS package doesn't seem to say that.

The similar Ethos sponge, has a very slightly different shape, and as a reviewer noted, different cut size. I will also note that the packaging is slightly different, as well. I only harp on the packaging because there are substantial mold costs associated with that, so that's another indicator to me that the Ethos sponge is different. It also does not seem to note a country of origin on the label, from what I can see.

EDIT/PS It's possible the packaging is a red herring, the package for the USS and the Armour sponge may be made here--there are probably better ways to take up less space when shipping sponges from China than shipping them in individual boxes.

Your attention to detail is second to none. I love the operational thinking behind your post too.

Here's a side by side. Very subtle differences. I'm more impressed by how much they're alike than how they're not. Even the sloping edges on the top and bottom. I did like the Ethos one but could easily just have been a proxy for what was a good therapy RW session. To be fair, I'd need to create some more controls and monitor the variables to validate my thoughts.

Please forgive the lint on the Ethos sponge. Seems it needs a little soak.
