This company is just hitting its stride! I'm only 1 enthusiastic fan but I'm 100% confident that they keep growing AND improve the products that some maybe be "average" to some of us

Enjoy the video and welcome to the cult

I am sure most detailers that start brands have some passion. The question is what was the problem that needed solving.

They started out with coatings, the supporting products were a natural progression.

One product comes to mind in terms of solving a problem. Most wheel coatings on the market have poor durability, lack outright hydrophobics and lack slickness. The ADS High Temp Wheel Coating has real world durability that will last a minimum of two years. It's also slick without needing a topper, and had brilliant hydrophobics. So from that angle, they solved the problem of underwhelming wheel coatings. And as far as I'm concerned, having coated wheels makes more of a difference than coated paint or glass.

What does it mean to "be transparent with our customers"? I mean of course I understand what it means, but I don't know what DJ is driving at as he keeps repeating that. Transparent how? Are they going to tell us who blends their products? What their gross margin is? A pdf of his paycheck?

I laughed… I cried… I bought the book… And I’ll watch the YouTube video soon.

Amen to that. My current wheels have some type of coating from factory and my F250 did not. I definitely notice less time to clean them… actually I can just hit them with a pressure washer and they’re clean but you know how OCD most of us are and I end up cleaning them more thoroughly.
The coating is wearing off though, through 1 winter. Whatever they put on there wasn’t that good.. probably something cheap that they charged me a premium for

That seems like it's worth an attempt. I haven't bothered with wheel coatings because it seemed like a lot of work for the amount of time it lasted.

I do agree with you that coating wheels makes them easier to clean. I was an early adopter of ADS before anyone knew who they were. I essentially had videos up before anyone on their coatings. I had a gut feeling that these guys would take off and be successful.

With that said I did use the wheel coating. Is it the best coating on the market? From my experience it is not. When I had it, it was struggling to get to 2 years. 18 months was the best I got out of it and that is being generous as it was showing early signs around the 12-15 month mark even with two layers. Technically it met the "+1 years" claim. It is better than some of the wheel coatings that are currently on the market. But ADS did not come close to 22ple's wheel coating which was approaching the 4 year mark when I used it. By far the best wheel coating I ever used. So I can not say that ADS "solved the problem of underwhelming wheel coating". I am not saying it is a bad coating, but it still left me wanting more. The good thing is that they are planning to update their coatings as I have shared with DJ things I would like to see made to their coatings.

If the car is garage kept and not driven that often then the wheel coating will last much longer.

Too add on to this, I have had better performance from a regular paint coating than a wheel coating. CQuartz UK; Gyeon Mohs Evo and Adams Advanced Graphene just to name a few. Adams got to to the 3.5 year mark before it started to lose its hydrophobic behavior which was impressive given it was not a dedicated wheel coating.

I've been around long enough that ADS to me is that place Auto Detialijg Supply that used to sell all the Meguiars products like 15 years ago.

Could get wetsand paper by the sheet.

Think they are out of business now.

Yeah, I miss those guys, it was nice to try the Meg's stuff in smaller quantities before committing to gallons.

I like new players in the game, if they bring innovation. More hype is the last thing the detailing world needs. We need more quantitative and objective data. All these products are so alike and they know it.
