New customer called a few days ago, he got my name from a local auto spa where he usually takes his cars to get washed and sometimes waxed.
The owner there is honest enough to know what kind of work she can handle and what she can't.
She found out about me awhile back afte ranother customer happened to stop by her place in his 350 Z after i had detailed it. She asked him who keeps his car looking so good and that's how my name came up.
I have done several cars for some of her customers.
This guy is very into his cars and he definitely keeps all of them very clean but he was also aware that he needed to do more to the ZX than just a wash and wax.
He waited about a year to call me because he wanted to finish other projects, as you can see the interior is flawless, he put on new wheels, stereo system and engine work.
I definitely spend way more time on it than anticipated, mainly because there were issues i had not fully evaluated and this must have been some of the softest paint i have worked on in....forever.
In many of the pics you can see the swirls removed but still see plenty of patina in the paint. Every time i wiped off polish residue , the towel would create some lines in the paint again. Very frustrating, but in the end he was very happy.

WHAT A GREAT IMPROVEMENT!! Excellent Shine..
The 300zx body styling is Timeless, looked great then, looks great now!

How was the customer's reaction, like I don't already know.

You've got serious skills. Do you do all your polishing at mobile locations? I can't imagine how you could do every polish job mobile as it might take more than a day?

He got on the phone with his boss who lives 3 houses down to ask him to come look at the car.
He kept saying :"i don't have words to describe how it looks".
Because his boss and a couple of friends were waiting to see how his car came out to then have theirs done also.

Mark, i do most jobs at the customer's place but i also have some bring their car or bike to me.
Most of the time i get it done in a day but if not i just go back to finish the next day.

That's awesome, Juan! :props:

Your van is sweet! I like the advertising look to it!

My friend who owns a graphic and vehicle wrap company did it for me.
He sprays his graphics alot of the time, you see how the checkered part goes from yellow to red, that's painted.
He will do my website also when i finally get the time and patience to give them all my info, pics and videos.
I also need to update the pics on the side of the van.

oh my god. that is AWESOME!! nice job on bringing back one of my ALL TIME favorite cars!!!!!!! that car is insane lookin!! i love it when people leave the body of those cars basically stock. the rims fit very nicely!

My exact thoughts when i first saw the car. He keeps all his cars with very little obvious modificatios while still modifying them.
He told me he searched for a long time to choose the right rims and if you look in the interior, you'll see carbon fiber accents.
He also showed me the intake about to go on that he had painted in carbon fiber.

I couldn't agree more. That 300 is super clean looking (Pun intended):props:

great job!!

Nice turn around for sure .But was wondering what you are using for products like compounds ,wax ,rotary or a Da let some of us in on your secrets .:xyxthumbs:

Excellent job like always.

That car is so hot and was so ahead of its time. Still looks better then a lot of new cars.

Great work as always.
Did you do any engine detailing? I would have liked to see those turbos. What did you use on the wheels? They look awesome too.

Thanks for sharing all those pics.
Ed

Thanks again guys, i'm glad we have some real car guys on here who appreciate all kinds of cars and not just the detailing aspect of the job.

Lately i have been using a brand of polish that i don't mention because it's not sold by AG.
But it was pretty staightforward but very labor intensive.
I used a white 3M buffing pad with the S/R followed by a black 3M pad and the finishing polish.
This time i didn't follow it with the blue 3M pad because the finish was
were i wanted it to be.
I topped it off with souverain.
I used to use 3M S/R followed by Ultrafine or Menz SIP and 106.
They all give excellent results.
Oh and almost All work i do is with a rotary.
From the day i started doing this i pulled out the rotary and started working without reading any forums, instructions etc.
To me it was kind of commom sense....if something spins this fast, be careful.
Of course, in the years since i DID do alot of reading and learning and then applying my own ways.

Ed, i didn't detail the engine because it didn't need it and he's in the process of adding some nice CF pieces like his intake that he just got back from a place in Oregon.
I will go back and take some pics when he's done and i also haven't made a video yet.

Nice work. Rim seclection is perfect for that car. I have one of those to do for the Z Nationals in a few weeks. Glad to now they have soft paint on them.

Excellent work as always, Juan. I love that car. The interior is perfect! And now the rest is too!
