My friend is always joking around and hanging onto my roof rack when I am driving away from his.. I dislike this soooo much but I don't really say anything.

Anyway.. I've just noticed a dent in the roof skirt.. it is a perfect elbow dent where obviously he's balanced himself on it.. :(

Then I've just curbed my wheel again which I only recently got fixed. :(

Ahhhhhh, had to vent!

PDR and alloy wheel repair will make it like new again. The PDR shouldn't be much.

Paintless dent repair.

Ah I see, thanks!

I can buy a removal tool on eBay for cheap, but is it worth it? shall I just visit a vehicle repair shop? how much would you say this would cost? I know it's hard to tell as I have no pictures to show, but it's a small dent, an elbow dent lol.

If you don't know what you're doing, don't try and fix it. Clean your car up and drop it off somewhere that does PDR.

Take it to someone who specializes in PDR. Depending on the shape and location of the dent, it can be anywhere from $50 to a couple hundred dollars.

I had a paintless dent repair on a nice size door ping a couple of weeks ago. The repair cost me $75 and I can't tell where it was.

Yeah, you can't really tell where this is either.. only in the sun and when the look at it on a side angle. That's a nice price!

I was quoted $300 additional for 3 roof dents (caused by surf board or roof rack.) when I was having some side panel dents fixed. The reason for higher cost, I was told, was the complication of removing the headliner. Pretty expensive in my area too. 5 dents in 3 different panels cost me $350.

Yes, PDR can be expensive based on the dent. Some jobs take just a little bit and others take several hours. Some dents are easily accessible while others require drilling holes, removing lights, trim, etc.

If you never popped a dent before I wouldn't try on your own it's a real talent! You would probably make it worse on your own.

Next time your buddy tries that stunt, stop, get out and kick him in the balls!

Hey guys,

I've just taken some picture of the dent here. I know it's nothing serious but it's totally getting to me..

How much do you think this will cost to remove?

IMO:
•Your best bet would be:

-to get an estimate from a couple of different PDR guys in your local area.

-To be proactive...To ensure this type of damage
will never have any chances to ever re-occur.

Thanks Bob. I've just sent a couple of emails to a few local companies. I will post their quotes here.

I do PDR, I cant really tell much from that pic. Stand further back, about 3 feet and put a lighted reflection in the back ground. I'm pretty sure there is no tool access up there but it dosent seem to be sharp or creased so glue shouldnt be a problem. DONT ATTEMPT TO FIX IT YOURSELF. I get alot of calls from people saying they tried to push it out and now decide to have a pro fix it. I wont touch these. If you dont knock down crowns and relieve pressure in the correct order you will make PDR impossible. Then your stuck with a expensive and time consuming convential repair.

And make sure to make it very clear to your friend that NOBODY is allowed to touch your car.

No grabbing on to roof racks, no leaning on the side, no sitting on the hood, no nothing PERIOD!

If he does just show him how annoying it is by doing something unpleasant to his car.

Like having you pet elephant sit on the hood.
