I am watching the news about the devastation in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, AL. Much of Tuscaloosa is destroyed they are saying. We have some AG family there so lets send some prayers that way and hope everyone is ok. Prayin for ya Laura!!

That was some nastiness for sure. We've had 3 straight days of thunderstorms and tornados

Hope everyone made it out alive...

Power and Cell Towers down near where Laura lives, she sent me these pictures taken with her cell phone...

Missed her area...

Got some nasty weather here as well - hopefully it passes over soon. On the bright side, maybe it will wash all the crap from the trees and make pollen season be over sooner! Im the MAN

Yeah we got tagged hard today in Middle TN..... luckily I slept through most of it! Hope our Alabamian bros are safe though.

I drove to Atlanta today so I can fly to California Friday. I should have stayed in Naples another day. I am glad Laura is ok. However, at least 25 have lost their lives in this storm.

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. A large portion of town is destroyed. One of my best friends (the one with the black BMW I posted about a few weeks ago) works for the fire department. At 10:00 tonight he said we had 38 deaths here in Tuscaloosa.

The tornado was headed for the plant where I work, so I left just in front of it. I stopped a couple of times to take the pictures Mike posted above. Power is out in most places, and cell signals are slowly getting stronger. Fortunately I don't have any damage at all, but there are thousands of people across the state whose lives have been turned upside down. The next few days are supposed to be sunny and in the mid 70's. At least we'll have nice weather for the clean up! Again, thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

I am staying at my old house south of Atlanta with my old roommates tonight. We just had one pass less then a mile south of us. Initial reports are bad. Lots of businesses are flattened. We just spent the last 45 minutes in the bathroom. We have another cell headed our way.

Edit. Just got word from a friend about damage to friends homes.

The gas station down the street is gone. I used to live right behind it. My old neighborhood is trashed. I can't get down there to help. I still have not heard from a couple friends.

We have debris and a ceiling fan blade from someone's house in our back yard.

On the interstate tractor trailers are on their side and cars were tossed. News reports say debris got tossed as high as 5000 feet.

WOW! Glad to hear you're OK, Laura. Sad to hear of the fatalies though.

Such a tragic day in American history

My prayers go out to all who have suffered losses

God bless,

Flash :(

I just got back from trying to get to the interstate from my house. All I can say is that the pictures, videos, and words just don't describe what it truly looks like. It is surreal to see empty spaces where buildings were just yesterday. And it's hard to get my mind around the strength required to twist and move the stuff I've seen twisted and moved. Things like railroad cars and radio station towers. But also overwhelming is the outpouring of assistance. There are people from all over the country here clearing trees, restoring power, feeding people, setting up shelters, and doing anything they can to help...including searching for people still missing. Things like this make me so incredibly grateful for everything I've been blessed with.

We did not get hit as bad as you, but we got hit pretty bad. I went to my old neighborhood today to check on some friends. A gas station is missing. I mean missing. The pumps are gone, everything. Buildings flattened, houses completely covered by trees, cars folded in half. It is crazy. We had a few deaths, but not many.

Laura took these with her cell phone, her area still doesn't have Internet connection.

She says she took these in the same general area of the first two pictures posted yesterday...

Let's hope the weather stabilizes for the time being...

That's what everyone has to do. Back when hurricane Charlie went through Punt Gorda I was living in Atlanta, but took three weeks and went down to help.

If the Army did not just send me to San Jose today I would probably be helping clean up my old neighborhood.

Hey guys I wanted to check in here. I'm fine and extremely lucky to be alive. Our property didn't sustain any damage from this tornado but it did receive some from the 15th tornado and we had our settlement that Wednesday the 27th.

Here are some videos I took, The police scanner ones are just amazing.
