Alfa Romeo 4C,Paint Correction and CQuartz Finest Coating

New Alfa 4C in for a 2-step paint correction and long term coating. The owner of this car actually contacted me in May of 2014 and just recently (finally) after waiting a very long time, took delivery of his new baby. He had researched ahead of time and was prepared for the paint to be in the condition it was, and as you'll see from the before pics, it definitely needed a little love. I'd say I achieved 95% correction or better but there were few light scratches remaining here and there...overall a drastic improvement though.


Process:

Wash - Traditional Wash with Megs Hyper Wash
Wheels - Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus & various brushes.
Tires - Cleaned with Megs D143 and Tuf-Shine brush. Dressed with Megs Hyper Dressing 3:1
Paint Prep - Nanos Skin Towel and Glide as lube
Paint Correction - Groit's Fast Correct Cream on the G21 with Griot's Fast MF pads followed by Correcting Cream on yellow BOSS pads. Tight areas done with G110v2 and Flex PE14.
Pre-Coating Prep - Eraser wipe down followed by IPA wipe down
Coating - 3 coats CQF, IR Cured
Exhaust - Optimum Metal Polish

Wow, was all that damage inflicted at the factory, or is that some combo of factory, transport, and dealer?

Came out great, did you do your signature spray-application of coating to that honeycomb trim?

I'm guessing that was all at the factory level.

Didn't touch the grill in this one. I dropped OCP last year and I don't have enough left to use on something like that. One of these days I'll try spraying one of the other coatings but I wasn't wanting to experiment on this car. ;)
 
Nice job correcting the 4C. Such a cool car - the white 4C I sat in on Labor Day did a much better job of hiding all of it's defects then that red one did!

Thanks! Not sure I'd want this car in white but that is one nice thing about that color. ;)

Nice work! Car came out great. All those factory installed defects...geez.
 
Wow those were some awful imperfection for such a new and expensive car! Nice work as always!
 
The before pics show paint defects that it's unbelievable if it's an original factory paint (looks like car went through some serious crash & was cheaply repainted), after pics are perfect.
Regarding taste of Alfa 4C owner I have no comment, even silly Porsche Boxter & less silly Cayman that cost the same look much better compared to this red toy & perform much, much better also quality you can't compare between this & that. Must be a special Alfa enthusiast turned lover.

The paint condition of this car, while disappointing, is actually very common with most new exotic cars. You can find hundreds of threads out there showing this and there was actually an article in Forbes just this week talking about it. ;)

I actually really like the lines of this car, more so than the Boxster, but to each their own. :props:
