Alpine White BMW M3 - Detailed by Lawrence

These are such nice cars :drool: and I really enjoyed the time spent bringing this one back to a more fitting state, as I did educating the owner on proper maintenance and seeing him get properly equipped with the right tools and products.


So, let's create a decent platform for him to start the journey on....and as always that's trying to work from dirty to clean, avoiding having to do things twice.

Great work.

I have a polar white MB wagon and am really interested to see the results others manage to achieve on factory white paint.

The BM is very similar to mine, similar (to me annoying) levels of orange peel, ie its not apalling, but you see it blurring the edges in the reflections somewhat.. , and an almost identical level of gloss / brightness.. which is great, i take that as i am achieving good results..

Loved the attention to detail too, underside hood, jams, filler and key hole..

I will be giving mine its 6 monthly polish before long so checking out others approach and products is helpful in formulating my plan..

I didn't know that cars with clear duct tape over the paint finish can be "detailed" , (few months ago a guy with new Yellow Ferrari 458 Spider it was I think, had this clear bra & where is the chrome horse in the back there was such a plastic hole around it looked cheap & crappy, I told him you drive poor people's Ferrari & told him it can't be detailed, by his face I could see he was pissed off I added it gives you no protection whatsoever this clear duct tape will fade same like headlights & Yellow will look like S..T, he said something about stone chips blahblahbla...I replied: Show me wealthy people who care about stone chips, you are an exception :laughing: besides did you ever went over 200km/h for more than a 1-2km? )
I still see him in the neighbourhood, he always presses the gas pedal for 123 seconds then stops (I think he loves Akrapovic exhausts noise) he is definitely not a sport driver but asshole.
For me rule N1: Never detail clear duct bra tape cars, it's humiliating in my opinion.
