Wow. I'm surprised to see all of the Michigan people here.
Hello all. I've actually been lurking around here for some time and have definitely caught the "bug". Thank you to everyone who has slowly started making my husbands wallet a little lighter.;)
I have always appreciated a good looking car and thought I was doing a good job of taking care of our cars. I didn't know what I didn't know.
So, yesterday I asked my husband for the Porter Cable 7424 XP. He said "a what?" (computer geek). I showed him some before and after pictures and explained what it could do for his 370Z (speaking his language). "Order it up!" he said. -Weeee!
Thank you again to all who participate here.

Hello,hello, from Richmond Mi
Fellow 370z owner too! Your husband is one lucky man, to have the 370 and a wife that will clean and polish it. Enjoy the site!

Welcome! Having grown up in MI, I sort of feel that I'm an honorary member of this AG MI crew :).

Nice choice with the PC and an especially good job with your negotiation skills!

Thank you all for the welcome.

Can you tell me what products you currently use on your Z? Or which products you like and why?
Last question, sorry, what color is your Z?

My Z is magma red.
Porter Cable w/orange pad & adv. swirl remover, then white pad w/ adv.finish polish, then souveran paste wax. All Pinnacle products. Excellent results!! Oh and use the clay bar first!

Thanks for the info.
Ours is magma red as well. :) Don't see many Z's around here.

Welcome to AG. The forum will provide useful help and recommendations. Find what works and use it often.

Welcome, there sure are lot from MI, I'm still doing my home work but have also decided on the PC and hope to order this week.

I'm Jealous. I think I'm going to wait and try McKee's paint coating first. I know its supposed to have some ability to "fill in" light scratches. My car is a couple months old so I'm hoping that will be good enough. My husbands car is a year and a half, that will be the deciding factor. If the coating will fill them in enough for it to look great, I'm ok with not correcting it, but if it doesn't I'll be making the purchase.
But I know having one would make polishing much easier....ugh! I don't know.
Let me know how you like the polisher and what you did with it.

Thanks for the welcome everybody.

Welcome!

I'm sometimes at my house in Rochester Hills, or with my better half in Shelby Twp.

I extend the invitation to try the Flex 3401, or Rupes Duetto to local forum members once the bug hits to try a new machine.

Till then, the PC is a fine machine, and my first choice for heavy cutting to sealing. It's my "universal" machine!

Thank you so much for the invite.
I'm reading that the PC is the way to go for the beginners.

No problem.

Well, I started on a rotary, and prefer the PC!

Beginner or not, it's a fantastic machine.
