Maybe you may know my friend Sam Gianino who still owns NHRA records from Detroit from the late 70`s, early 80`s.He appeared on the covers of Hot Rod, Car Craft, Popular Hotrodding, ect.He owned a machine shop and built motors for Rouch racing. He raced Grumpy 10 times and only beat him once.
I'm only 43 yrs old but that name sounds familiar but have heard of "The Grump", he ran General Kinetic cams and I was told by an elder at the time to look into that brand, so I did, even went to their then location on Warren Avenue, IIRC and bought one. The building was really old but they knew their stuff though.
Sinister Z, after seeing that video and what you did on street tires (Firestone's???) all I can say is WELCOME TO THE 11'S !

Thank you. I'm getting closer, but not quite into the 11s yet. Going back again sometime this week or weekend. My best run today was a 12.279 @ 116.94 with a 1.942 60'. Best 60' was a 1.896. The Firestones that I'm on are their Firehawk Wide Ovals. Next step is some drag radials![]()
I bet those wide ovals are as hard as a brick, some summer perf tires would be better than that but not as good as drag radials. What brand of drag radials are you getting BFG or Nitto?

Nice Monte. Would love to see pictures of it when it's done. The LT1/T56 combo will be a really nice setup. The LT1 in my old '94 took a beating daily and never skipped a beat. Best of luck it!

Highly doubtful, '91 was the wrong year (SVO was '86 if I remember correctly, unless it's a swap of course), and the 19 sec 1/4 seems a little too slow for a 2.3 Turbo. By the way, since you're from Elk Grove, are you a member on CTR by any chance? I've been meaning to ask you for awhile, I've just been forgetting to.This 2.3L....was in an SVO engine?

Another thread I don't know how I missed! Myself, I am in the business of building some very fast cars, so I find my way to the dragstrip more often than not, whether it's one of my cars (Except the WS6, it's way too nice), or setting up a customer's car. We get some nice grudge races going here.
