Anyone else order a Makita PO5000C?

To update
3in BP and 3.5 force pad in free spin is still worthless
3inch forced mode worked well

I think only way to potentially get rotation on free mode is a modified 75E plate and thin pro pad..or maybe Griot 2inch plate

Other then that, guess rotex is really the only proper answer
 
Update: My new polisher that was getting hot enough to melt pads is ready for pickup tomorrow. The technician said all the grease had slung out of the gear. That gear is connected directly to the allen screw in the backing plate, so that's why it was getting so hot. I pick it up tomorrow and I have a job tomorrow also so I can report if it is fixed.
 
I bought it and returned it the same day. on da mode to much vibration.On forced rotation works good.75.00 restocking fee.

I probably got yours because I bought mine from Autopia's eBay site! I only paid $225. It is great for me except for the heat.
 
I've considered ordering a Makita, but I can't get past the 5.5mm throw of the tool. I already have a GG6 and GG3, so I'm inclined to buy a G15 or G21 over the Makita and step up to the large-throw DA polishers. I just can't justify a 5.5mm throw tool, even if it offers forced rotation.
 
I got the Makita back and used it on a job yesterday. The shop repacked it with grease so full that it was dripping grease all over the car. I tied a towel around it to catch the grease. I assume it all the extra will eventually drip out. It still gets a little hot I think, but it doesnt melt the foam pad.

You're failing to recognize the higher OPM and RPM of this tool along that it's forced and not free spin only.

It out corrects the 3401..I never did a side by side with my G21 though..but I tend to go for my makita nw instead of my g21 which I loved since release
 
anyone can share how is the noise level compared to the Flex 3401?

Good to know that it is quieter then the 3401. The only thing that is still holding me back from getting one is the Makita comes in 6 inch backing plate from where i am at.

And the local distributor is not selling the backing plate for 5inch

Are you sure it po5000c and not 6050? I think the 5" is standard on the po5000c.

Have you looked at the new Rupes Mille? Looks like a smooth running polisher.
 
I am located in Singapore and the model they sell here is the Makita PO6000C instead of the PO5000C.

Yeah, only difference between overseas is 220v and 6in plate
If he's looking for a good balanced 5in plate without getting from USA, than the Festool D125 plate will work well which comes in hard plastic, soft, and super soft
